Hey.

What amime are you currently watching/enjoying?

Seen any decent anime films recently?

-------

I'll go first.

I'm currently watching Gundam Wing. Its truly excellent and is my fave so far.

I watched "Black Jack" the other day. Truly excellent movie about a doctor who is brought into a corporate Super-Human developing centre.

Spirited Away is a great movie and deserves to be seen on the big screen, anyone likely to go see it?

Here for those keen anime fans is the Spirited Away Preliminary Cinema Screening List for the UK. The cinemas listed below will be showing this Ghibli Oscar Winning Wonder of Animation on or after September 12th.

That's some great news. For now I'll continue to watch Chobits with the episodes I have aquired but if it continues the way it's been going so far I will be getting the dvds when I have spare cash I think.

As for MVM getting some of Pioneer's stuff do you know if they got any of the Tenchi stuff? Would look myself but I'm too lazy to search for the site, so basically any chance of a link please?

Cid Vilante - MVM UK acquired UK rights to Chobits a few weeks back, as wel las other Pioneer properties, and will release Region 2 DVD's early next year, maybe faster now MVM and others have done deals which allows them to use the R1 releases and just do new packaging and change them to R2.

Maybe it is your choice of anime ? Only thing I've got tha even vaguely matches your freaky made up film is Love Hina, which has girls with (semi) exagerated eyes, but that's a trend of most anime. And it only rates as about a 15 anyway, in fact I think most of my favourite anime rates at 15 or under.

I don't think the Japanese have a problem anyway, compared to Western Culture - which turned the internet into the world's largest porn mall, promotes nearly everything with women in various states of undress, and so on, I think they're positively conservative really.

Most anime is less loaded with advertising and trying to make people think a certain way than a majority of western films, which is one of the great things about it. No one trying to make you think a phone is cool, and so on, just great stories, different characters and nice art.

I'm still to fully see Akira. I've seen most of it but I keep missing the last half hour or so. Might wait until my friend gets it on DVD so I can watch it with subtitles instead of the english dubbed version. Can't get over the fact that one of the dudes has the voice of Leonardo from the Turtles.

As for Chobits. I've watched the first 5 episodes and I think it's great. Chii is cute without the usual feeling of nausia(sp). Looking forward to seeing the rest of the series.

You mean 90% of people who watch anime?

Every single anime I've ever watched has had at least one element from that made up film. The Japs really have got a lot of issues.
