Hi,

I have done several speedtests since midday today and I have not got over 2.6mb/s.

My last results a minute ago from bt speed tester were:

Test1 comprises of Best Effort Test: -provides background information.
Your DSL connection rate: 13789 kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 1152 kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP profile for your line is - 11000 kbps
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 1586 kbps

My current router stats are:

IP 11000k
Data Rate: 13790 1153
Noise M 12 5
Ooutput Power 125 203
Att 37 14

I appreciate ALT kicks in sometimes, but this looks like a fault.

Are there any server issues currently?

Neil

More than likely.

Anyway sorry I have been absent from this thread today. We were infact looking deeper into the issue as it now seems likely that there are enough examples to produce a large amount of evidence.

I've had a word with our support people and they are asking that anyone experiencing these problems to perform some tests and report back to them.
So to avoid us getting swapped with loads speedtest reports I will be sending out emails to several users (mainly the users who have reported speed problems here) asking if they would be able to collect together some data over several days and report back to us with the results. Once we have enough data we will forward this on to try and push for a resolution. At the moment we don't have enough data from customers to begin looking into this.

Not good :¬(

I can see(!) 'Eccles' has been having a good look around today on another forum where others are also reporting problems; so Freeola could be on the case.

Hopefully Freeola will provide an update on the issues some of us are currently experiencing soon.

Errr...

Download speedachieved during the test was - 970 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 1000-99999 Kbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :12762 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 1119 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 10000 Kbps

This test was not conclusive and further testing is required. This might be useful for your ISP to investigate the fault.

Columbo 84%
ALT Off

I can't blank my router password for the bt login so can't do the above 'further test'

Sorry DL, can you explain some more? I'm not sure what you are saying either?

i.e. As you can see I've never been marked as a high bandwidth user.

I was actually referring to Hmmm's post earlier:

Line info below:

Number of days marked as a high bandwidth user
08 October 2009, 14:06:40
You have been marked as a high bandwidth user on 0 day(s).
If this number is 5 or more you will be affected by the high bandwidth user ALT settings.

Last date marked as a high bandwidth user
08 October 2009, 14:06:40
Never

ALT status for your connection
08 October 2009, 14:06:40
Active and increasing

..... in particular the 'marked as a high bandwidth user' bit :-)
