Recently, though, I've started to see the good points of the genre and have 'got into' artists like Run DMC and Tupac, there's still violence, gang-slang and explicit lyrics but at least I can make out the words and there is some rythm to it (more than I can say for the lyrical skill of, oh, say ... Slipknot)
I'd recommend 'My Adidas' by Run DMC and 'Ambitionz as a Ridah' by Tupac, if anyone's interested.

I really like John Cenas album, i dont know if it is really true Hip-hop like the type you guys like but i think its good!
I might not like the true hip-hop but who knows!
