What troubles me about 9/11 is that if it had happened to some financial building in Africa. The coverage wouldn't have been anything like it was.
i have summed it up to people before and they have agreed that it been considered an even worse crime because:
A bunch of rich, white Americans died.
They are somehow more important than other people in the world.
This sickens me and lessens my sympathy for America.
Obviously I'm generalising but I think my point is clear.

The panic would've been overwhelming if, after implementing measures to stop terrorists, the terrorists had no problem carrying on. If they'd blamed it on terrorists they would have made their preventions look pointless and make a lot of people very scared.
Bit of a coincidence that a plane should crash in NY so soon afterwards. A cover-up anyone?
However, it doesn't make sense in some ways- shouldn't America have WANTED to blame this on terrorists to make even more grounds for the 'war on terrorism'- very confusing!
Hedfix said that there would not be as much coverage had it been a building in Africa. But that is only hypothetical. Because fact is, America was hit because the Muslim extremists hate America. They don't hate Africa. It just won't happen.
The WTC was the single biggest icon, symbol of prosperity in America. There is no equal in Africa.

I saw a similar thing happen in footage from America. It was spring break everyone in the crowd was pretty wasted and they ALL wanted to congratulate their team at once. Not a pretty sight: a lot of hurt people.

No I don't remember. I wasn't born yet! Never saw pictures of it either. The earliest conflict I remember seeing pictures of was the first Gulf War.

Remember the first war televised? Vietnam, really nasty, sick and disturbing stuff was broadcast from there live, I think for the first time for about 100 years (since WW1) a lot of people learned that war isn't all glorious and heroic. People saw other innocent people, just like them, getting napalmed in the streets where they lived. Like I said before, this wasn't really understood until Jessie Pope's views were challenged by people like Wilfred Owen in world war 1. If you look at the Iraq war on TV recently, all you could see was planes flying over and explosions, and, although I admit there were very few civilian casualties, they don't show you the pictures of people being blown apart.
