Saw this brough up in another thread. Out of respect for that thread (if you know which one you'll understand) I've put the topic here instead.

What troubles me about 9/11 is that if it had happened to some financial building in Africa. The coverage wouldn't have been anything like it was.
i have summed it up to people before and they have agreed that it been considered an even worse crime because:

A bunch of rich, white Americans died.

They are somehow more important than other people in the world.
This sickens me and lessens my sympathy for America.

Obviously I'm generalising but I think my point is clear.

it isn't a lot compared to the bombing of hiroshima and nagasaki in world war 2 for example, no, but the loss of one single life is a lot in terms of humanity. how you can dismiss 3000 lives like that displays an immature and close minded view of world affairs.

remind me it isn't really a lot when one of your family gets killed in a terrorist attack .....

There seems to be a lot of American haters on this site I would like to bet most of them are people who never came to terms with the death of Communism and now they pin their hopes on a new Socialist super state in Europe, all I can say to them is better dead than red.

Only 3000 innocent lives lost, only 3000 families that have lost their loved ones and had their whole world turned upside down. How you can even come out with such a thing to say beggars belief.

The thing that sickens me about 9/11 isn't just the fact that thousands died. Its when I see some insensitive fat guy trying to sell hats and T-shirts with the words " I saw Ground Zero" printed on them. Thats the kind of thing that makes me angry. Some guy making money out of the deaths of thousands of innocent people. Disgusting...

Oo.

Lets forget about the Holocaist. That was, like, over 50 years ago.

Or lets forget about the Human Rights Act and lock you up and throw away the key.

Actually.....

How do I get in? There's no link to the actual site, just some logos about American heroes...
