Busy day in school so still catching up on Internet news.
New (but used) car is now home :¬) Collected it at lunchtime and then spent half hour putting back all the stuff from out of the old car ;¬)
The garage was the next problem. I was doubtful but you have to give it a go! The car went in, but I couldn't get out!
Serious garage refurbishment tomorrow, I think! It's those really 'useful' storage units from Ikea that are the problem ;¬)
Happy days :¬) ... and my eldest son is 30 on Saturday as well!
.... so if you do need a client for POP then I'd suggest Thunderbird. It's far more stable than Livemail and better maintained.
Thanks for that chas ... I was leaning that way.
In school all day today. Well, that's if we ever get there. My youngest is making that very difficult at the moment...
Thanks pb for that ... but Thunderbird is free and OE Classic is £22 ... no brainer really;¬)
The question was ... Vista uses Windows Mail which is client-based. (Windows Mail was the new name for Outlook Express, back then) ... so can I download 'Windows Mail' from Microsoft and run it in Windows 8.1 and will it work?
You can download and install Windows Livemail for Windows 8.1 if you want to (not Windows Mail, but not too dissimilar), but despite my misgivings, I quite like the mail app in 8. No good for POP accounts of course, unless you fancy going through the process of adding them as aliases online, so if you do need a client for POP then I'd suggest Thunderbird. It's far more stable than Livemail and better maintained.
I've been using Internet based mail for years now, other than for work, which uses Outlook.
Has anyone checked out the budget?
