Men held at Camp X-Ray, an American base since 2001.
Their lawyers demand they be charged, as they have been held without any claims made against them for over a year now.
America's response?
"It's not US soil, they're not covered by our Constitution"
This is the base where 2 "prisoners" died from "blunt force trauma" and the Medical Examiner ruled they had been beaten to death by US interrogators.
But hey, those weapons of mass destruction eh?
> So they don't have people there who come from America, Britain and
> other nations, some who openly admitted they were leaving these
> countries to go and kill our soldiers?

No.
The people held at Camp X-Ray were snatched from Afghanistan as "suspected" terrorists.
And detaining people for admitting what they'd like to do is Orwellian in the extreme.
I'd like to see Bush's head rolling down the street, doesn't mean I'm a terrorist and wish harm on any innocent civilians.
I mean, we're about to go to war with Iraq over their weapons, despite Hans Blix saying they dont have any and are decommissioning the ones they did have.
To start a war based on "Well we know they do, doesn't matter what you think" yet to not charge people being held seems a little...odd
I'm slipping...
He still has massive influence in that sector and can probably be bought with a few million dollars...
"Cheney favors the repeal of section 907 of the 1992 Freedom Support Act, which severely restricts U.S. aid to Azerbaijan because of its ethnic cleansing of the Armenians in Nagorno Karabakh, a mountainous enclave in Azerbaijan. Why would Cheney choose to ignore Azerbaijan's human-rights violations? Because Azerbaijan, key to the richest Caspian oil deposits, is, according to the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists, "in fact, the focal point of the next round in the Great Game of Nations, a dangerous, hot-headed place with a Klondike of wealth beneath it. It is Bosnia with oil."
Last year, Halliburton's Brown & Root Division was awarded a $180 million a year contract to supply U.S. forces in the Balkans. Cheney also sits on the board of directors of Lockheed Martin, the world's largest defense contractor. Replacing munitions used in the Balkans could result in $1 billion in new contracts.
Although he stepped down as CEO of Halliburton, he still owns shares of stock in the conglomerate and his financial interests in the Persian Gulf, the Caspian region and the Balkans will invariably continue."
I know Chaney was the Chairman of Halliburton at the time of the BBC reporting that Taliban leadres flying to Houston and meeting with oil company executives from Unacol to discuss the building of a pipeline across Afghanistan.
Actally, you're right - Cheney upong being appointed vice president did surrender his official title but still maintains share interests and is an "advisor".
