----

Men held at Camp X-Ray, an American base since 2001.
Their lawyers demand they be charged, as they have been held without any claims made against them for over a year now.
America's response?
"It's not US soil, they're not covered by our Constitution"

This is the base where 2 "prisoners" died from "blunt force trauma" and the Medical Examiner ruled they had been beaten to death by US interrogators.

But hey, those weapons of mass destruction eh?

That's not what I meant, and I'm sure you actually know that.

Then I guess the retaliatory killing of two non-convicted or charged Afghan civilians using "blunt force trauma" is alright.

But Sagacious, these aren't prisoners of war.

They havent been charged with anything at all.
They havent been convicted of acts of terrorism.
They weren't in a wartime scenario.
They aren't soldiers fighting for their country.
They were taken from villages in Afghanistan and spirited away to Cuba.
It's a lot different from capturing soldiers during times of war.

And unless you personally know them, I find it hard to believe that you can say with hand on heart that they definitely did commit "acts of terrorism".
These people have been held deliberately outside of US waters, yet on a US base, for over a year with zero charges brought against them.
The Afghanistan situation is all but over, to the extent that Halliburton (Dick Cheney, Vice-President being the CEO) have their pipeline across formerly taliban controlled regions now.

Yes, but if they're (the US) supposed to be civilised and uphold the very freedom of humanity that they claim to, they are lowering themselves to their enemy's level and are no better than them by adopting these torture tactics.

Amnesty International would have a field day.

As I recall, one of the tortures used by the Iraqi's during/after the Gulf war was to stuff tissue down your backand then set it alight...

Yeah it sucks but I remember captured allied soldiers in WW2, Gulf war etc all receiving brutal torture from the saddists (Nazis, Japanese, Irqais etc) we were fighting. I can't remember us committing such actions at the time. This is obviously a different scenario, with a different nature of enemy but I'm not going to shed a tear for these people, if we've now adopted the same methods of interrogation they've employed for years.

Imagine what would happen if a Special Forces guy falls into the hands of any terrorist...that's why each SF keep a bullet for themself, it's preferable to the inevitable torture that would follow.

They showed a hypothetical image of the bomb being detonated - it looked absolutely devastating. I've no doubt they'll "test" it when they go to war...

And slightly bigger than a canary, so don't fooled if one drops out of the sky.
