Pah, they must have changed them.
Obviously watered it down for you XBox owners ;)
I hate those Ancient Burial Tombs, don't you?
Vivec is great, the first time I went there I climbed up to the temple and actually attacked Vivec himself, not a good idea by the way.
> I am one of those black race. Not racist.
A Redguard. So am I.
Use the inherent "Andrenaline Rush" before going into a fight with someone powerful. You can only use once a day though.
I also have the ability to go invisible once every 24 hours because I chose the Moon as my Star-sign.
And what type of character are you? A thief, a warrior, a magician?

What type of character are you?
I'm no expert, but I've been playing Morrowind virtually non-stop since it hit the streets.
I think the best advice is: choose a Guild which suits your character, and just perform the tasks they want, and progress through the ranks.
Get the best armour and weapon you can, and buy some quality potions and magical scrolls.
The "intervention" scrolls are very useful for quick teleportation back from faraway quests.
The "Divine Intervention" scroll warps you back to the nearest "Fort/Castle", and the "Almesvi(Spelling?) Intervention" scroll warps you to the nearest temple.
Scrolls which summon creatures are useful in combat situations, especially at the beginning when your stats are weak.
> Ah, but if I want to join the Tong then I have to got to Vivec.
The best thing to do is go to the Thieves' Guilds in Ald-ruhn & Sadrith Mora before attempting to join the Morag Tong - some of the characters they want you to assassinate are tough unless you've beefed yourself up a bit.
Scrolls which summon creatures are very useful if you can find them though.
Then I got involved in the Neverine Prophecies and started to get whupped by major magic monsters
It's a confusing, watery city with many levels and it's nigh-impossible to find anybody there without spending 30mins wandering about attacking random people.
Might just be me though...
I'm aiming to become a theif, but one that can take care of himself in a fight. Not bothering with magic hardly at all.
I keep wanting to go to Vivec or somewhere, but I always want to do just one more mission for the theives guild in Balmora. Just one more to help get my stats up...
I want to join the Morag Tong, and for that, I HAVE to go to Vivec...
