Full Olympics Medal Table
from the BBC.GB's roll of honour
(again from the BBC).I've been quite impressed with the opening ceremony - I watched most of it live this afternoon and I'm watching the highlights as I type this.
I hope 'we' can pull off something as respectable in 2012!!!
The BBC say 4bn people will be watching!
I was surprised to see Sara Brightman had got in there singing the Olympics anthem (good for album sales!).
I did a Google and some Chinese sites say she is from the USA! :¬(
Let's hope it's a good one - it's certainly started rather well...

Paula didn't do so well in the marathon - but at least she kept going this time, rather than pull out because she wasn't going to win... Another GB girl (can't remember her name at the mo.) took a fall near the start and went on to complete with nasty grazing and a possible cracked rib! She must be pretty tough...

Thats fine. Its like being america:
"How does it feel that we've raped you, the world, of any chance of winning? how does it feel to suck and die in front of your superiors?"
In Athens 2004 we got...
Gold - 9
Silver - 9
Bronze - 12
Total - 30
At the moment we have...
Gold - 4
Silver - 2
Bronze - 3
Total - 9
Are we on course to beat our Athens score?
Gold and the WR is gone. Magnificent

What about the women of volleyball? They seemed reasonable compared to the most femail atheletes.
But anyway, GB didn't do too badly and we're set for some medals in the weekend. If we win medals ievery event, it will boost morale quite high.
But we really need to improve our performance in every other discipline.
BMX the new event should prove worthwhile.
