Future publishings distibutors have finally managed to find there way to sleepy suffolk.
I now have the mag - nearly a week later than some of you !

I got my copy today. I thought there was two magazines in it....turns out it was a piece of "protective" cardboard behind an advert. Damn you tricksters at Future Publishing!
Anyway, got inside, found the new layout to be ABSOLUTE PANTS! Too many pictures and boxes that pop out at you, all vying (sp?) for your attention, so you don't want to look at anything. I do like the idea of getting rid of the previews with a section that just looks at the games instead of passing judgement. Some of the new bits seem to be trying to emulate Edge, which I don't agree with. If I wanted to read Edge, I would bloody well buy Edge wouldn't I?
The demo wasn't as good as I had hoped either - Tekken 4 was alright but not as good as I'd hoped. It seems a bit slow and bulky. The characters are more close up and have a speech thingy at the end, More DOA stlye. I preffered the old ones.
Micro Machines is okay, seemed very similar to old ones in every way.
Burnout 2 is the game I've played most and is the one that has impressed me the most - not necessarily by being the best, but because I wasn't expecting much of it. Still, I can't see what all the hype was about.
Summoner 2 is a bit bad - the characters are on a ship in a storm at the beginning at yet stay perfectly still. The combat is a bit dodgy and repetitive as well, so I didn't really enjoy it.
Ratchett and Clank was a bit slow moving and remind sme of all platformers so I didn't really give it that much of a go.
I think that's all the games I've been on, and my unadulterated unaltered opinion on all of them. :)

Well been up to my local supermarket and it wasn't in :(
Oh well, I'll have a look again sometime next week, as I don't really fancy going up every day this week to see if they get it in. A shame because the demo line-up is the best yet I think.
