The more I see about this game, the more I want it. The graphics, the bosses (particularly the shark), the atmosphere all seem to add up to a must buy game, but I'm still not sure.

You guys have played it, so what are the good parts? I've read reviews, but a little persuasion about the fun factor, etc would be nice. Is it worth buying?

Perhaps you've been playing it through on EASY mode?

I never played the original, so its a wholy new experiance for me. Its a very very very atmospheric game - For instance, you climb up a ladder, and suddenly this heart pounding music starts up, but you can't see any enemies becasue of the camera postion. Suddenly, a zombie throws himself at you, just as the music lulls............bloomin' effective.

As is the shotgun at removing his head.

Not really. You know maybe WHAT the next boss batlle is, but lots has changed. Today I was unexpectedly surprised (well, obviously if I was surprised it was unexpected, but you see what I mean) by the snake for a second time, as it was in a different place. So even though I have played the original I didn't know it would be there. Plus there's the fact that the original is six years old, so most people won't have played it in ages, and many people haven't played it at all, so it's worth getting.

You don't get a bonus for saving ammo, but you never know what will happen next. Also, the enemies get harder as the game goes on - at the start you have zombies as the standard enemy, then hunters replace them. The hunters are harder to kill, are more intelligent and can cause more damage. They can also jump up a complete flight of stairs side on. And you never know when the next boss battle will be.

Well obviously you have to take out some of the enemies.

The bosses require fairly hefty amount of ammunition.

And if you actually get into the later stages of the game you'll find yourself very, very, very short quite quickly.

Anyway, at least give Zero a try, and Code Veronica, I had that on the DC and it absolutely rocks!

After reading a guide about how to do the game in 2 hours i have to admit, i quite fancy getting the game. But i don't know if bringing that fear back would be wise.
