"Massive fight last night"

I am in such a bad way. I had a massive fight with my girlfriend last night. We have been together for over a year and I love her dearly, but last night we had the worst fight ever. We were even physical with each other and I would never usually hit a woman. In the end I told her I wanted her to be out of my house tomorrow - because she lives with me. I slept in another room last night and this morning we didn't say a word to each other. We dodged each other round the house and went to work our seperate ways.

I dont know what to say to her when/if I see her when I get back from work. Deep down I dont want her to go as I love her and we have fun together, but we have been arguing loads and I have been finding myself looking at other women, thinking "she looks nice". I'm sure she doesn't want to leave either, but I am really stuborn and dont think I can say sorry to her.

Please help me.....

Domestic violence, from either party, is wrong.
It's indicative of a destructive personality/relationship and should not be continuing.

Irregardless of "who started it", a person has to right to exist without abuse from their partner - Male OR female.
There is a stigma attached to domestic violence towards males, because of the attitude "You're a bloke, hit her back".
But nobody ever says "Why is she/he hitting you?", and that is the cause of the problem.

It's a cycle, a pattern of repeated violence towards one another. If a person is abusing their partner, then why is that person still doing so?
The onus is not on the victim as in "Why don't you get out" but on the abuser to stop.
But hitting back is not the answer, whatever gender.

So instead of people justifying returning the abuse, that person should be no longer part of that relationship.
It's not a question of self-defence or hitting women, it's a case of what the hell is that person even doing in a relationship that has such occasion?

by saying that, I don't mean "hitting girls is in my nature", so don't bother trying to say things like that.

Instead, try picturing the human race's history, had it not been a violent species.

Quite possibly the most ridiculous post I've ever read on here. And it's not okay for women to hit men, or indeed for men to hit men. Anyone who needs to resort to physical violence to solve their problems is an idiot, and men who do so on women should be ashamed. Self defence, whatever - it's my view that a man should not hit a woman, full stop.

I learnt from Chris Rock's bring the pain that you cant hit a woman...but you can shake the sh-t outta them...

People should really check that show out, especialy his thoughts on hitting woman.

There's a difference between being held by a psycho and lumping the missus in the middle of an argument.

Like I said, it's just a personal conviction and therefore, for my world, correct.

Say for example, you have your feet tied, and a hand tied behind your back. You have one hand to defend yourself, and there is a psycho woman trying to beat the living daylights out of you.

do you:

a) use your one hand to block 2 arms, two legs, head and any possible weapons to stop yourself getting hurt

b) use your lone arm to try to drag you to safety, despite the fact that the woman attacking you can move much faster

c) use your one arm to get a decent hit in and knock her lights out

your philosophy will get you hurt methinks

"Don't beat up on anyone significantly weaker than yourself" = using violence to opress someone weaker is wrong.

But if it's against someone of the same gender, and similar strength, you're still *trying* to use violence to opress them, it's just less likely to work. You could argue it's less cowardly, but i think that'd be missing the point.
It'd be missing my point anyway :^)

Thus: Just don't try to beat up on anyone.


If it's out of necessity, or self defence, and is done using minimal force, i'd consider it acceptable tho.

Women shouldn't be hit. Men shouldn't be hit.

Some men get hit. Some women get hit.

World is normal if a man is hit. World creates uproar if woman gets hit.

You see? Although woman (95% of the time) shouldn't be hit, if they hit someone, they MUST expect a reaction of the same sort.

Equal rights my @ss, they want it all their own way.
