"The results of the largest survey of gamers this year has revealed that Xbox is the top console of choice this Christmas.
Over 12,000 US gamers were asked, "What console do you plan to buy in the coming year?" and 39 percent answered Xbox! 27 percent answered PlayStation 2, and 17 percent plan to pick up a GameCube.
The study also showed that game demos are the most influence over game purchase decisions. When asked "Which of these items highly influence your game purchase decisions?" nearly 8 out of 10 respondents (78%) ranked game demos the number 1 factor, far ahead of the number 2 response: game reviews (47%). Both television commercials (35%) and magazine ads (31%) trailed furthest behind as drivers."
Not bad eh?

So nine games? Well I own nine GC games from launch, eight of which are exclusive, and theres still a few I want to pick up like Burnout and SSX Tricky. Although I've already started buying new games that start coming out next week. As soon as Turok comes through my letterbox, there will be at least 1 new game I want every week up to christmas, and in many cases 2, 3 or 4 in a week.
the only difference

If I owned an X-box, to this day I would still only own one game, Halo. And I don't even like it that much, but it would be stupid to own a 'console' but no have games for it...
This whole part of the disscusion is down to personal opinion, and therefore should be ended now as we are all well aware everyone has different opinons.

I don't have a grudge against you at all. In fact I respect you for sticking to your guns whatever people say, and not backing down.
The only criticism I have is that, generally, you will not accept any negative comments at all, either about the Xbox or the software. The Xbox is not a perfect machine; such a thing does not exist.
And I do truly believe that MS screwed up with the massive gap between launch and the next wave of serious quality titles. I can promise you that, had they had some major titles released over the last several months, sales would have been far higher than they are.
I am sure that sales will pick up towards Xmas, but so will sales of PS2 and Gamecube, because all the platforms have major titles due for release.
Xbox and Gamecibe sales stand a good chance of increasing by a larger percentage than PS2, simply because they have been comparatively low. But whether they will boost numbers to anywhere near PS2 sales remains to be seen. For example, a 100% increase in Xbox sales could still be less than a 25% increase in PS2 sales.
Out of interest - just a hypothetical question: What will you do/how will you feel if Xbox *doesn't* sell in large numbers this Xmas?
I know you are confident that it will, but just assume for a moment that it doesn't.
Anyway, I'm off to bed - but remember, just because I don't agree with you does not mean I dislike you.
You got too much time on your hands there mate. ;-)

I may not like you much, but you *really* shouldn't care what other people think of you, especcialy on this forum! The three comments I noticed about me were:
Great poster
Hates newbs
Dislike
But I couldn't care less if they all said great poster, or if they all said they hate me. I wouldn't leave, I wouldn't post more, I'd just carry on just the same.

Oi, mine and Herc's moth discussions were very valid thankyou.
I used to really enjoy posting but at the moment I aren't one bit.
