"To Buy or Not To Buy?"

Me I am a PS2 owner, and for Christmas or earlier i would like to get a new console, either the xbox or the GCN.

Ive done research on the Xbox, it sounds good, but can you GCN fans persuade me into getting a Nitendo Gamecube? What has it got that is better than the Xbox? Why is it worth getting? Will my gaming needs be satisifed with this console?

One thing I like about this is that Freeloader allows you to play games without chiiping the console, which is good for cheap imports.

Please Help!!

I thought you had already decided on a GameCube? Never mind. Of course, I'd recommend a 'cube and could give you hundreds of reasons why, but as they're both excellent consoles, it's all about personal opinion. You have to think: Joanna Dark or Master Cheif? Mario or Blinx? Link or Munch?

Sorry to butt in, But PinkPig, Xbox has quite alot of original titles aswell as the GC, With over 60 Xbox exclusives in development and The GC has quite a few ports aswell.

The biggest reason I can think of to buy a GC rather than an X-Box is that the games are different to (and in my opinion better than) those titles on the X-Box. There are far fewer ports, and none of the constant various clones of other consoles - instead, great new and original games such as Pikmin, Super Mario Sunshine, Resident Evil, Eternal Darkness, Starfox Adventures, Sonic, Super Monkey Ball, Zelda, Star Wars : RL, Lost Kingdoms, and goodness knows how much more!

Yeah, that's true. Also, Mario Golf, Tennis, Party and Kart are rumoured to be online games.

Just read that Nintendo are ready to go online in Japan, in October the adapter will cost £20 in Japan. The first online game Is Star Phantasy, but there are more titles in line for online playing coming soon. The game was online at E3 aswell.
