Me I am a PS2 owner, and for Christmas or earlier i would like to get a new console, either the xbox or the GCN.

Ive done research on the Xbox, it sounds good, but can you GCN fans persuade me into getting a Nitendo Gamecube? What has it got that is better than the Xbox? Why is it worth getting? Will my gaming needs be satisifed with this console?

One thing I like about this is that Freeloader allows you to play games without chiiping the console, which is good for cheap imports.

Please Help!!

I always buy my games on UK release. I don't mind waiting, and it's a lot safer this way. Also, you can trust your suppliers more.

Hmm.. I'd get the UK one mate. If it's faulty there's going to be a lot of hassle, you may not get any warranty and it may not be very secure. It's up to you, I prefer to play it safe, and by the book, if you get my meaning.

After looking at a site, I think the Cube has got wonderful games coming out like the Final Fantasy game, Pro Rally 2002, ISS 2, New James Bond Game, BMX XXX, Mario Sunshine, and many more titles. You see Ninty have games for all types of peeps, young to old. Mario to Resi Evil.

But one thing what great games are coming out in the years to come....

Do you think this is worth it, theres this European site which imports USA and Japanese gaming goods to the UK.

They have got this deal, the cube, a choice of 3 colours, its the USA cube comes with Stepdown Converter, and the Freeloader, when bought with a game which ranges from £19.99 to £44.99, When bought with a game the console is priced at £150. Is that worth it. I could even choose the Platinum version of the cube.

Excellent choice mate. I nipped into PC World today and picked myself up a copy of Super Monkey Ball, Deus Ex, Broken Sword, Broken Sword 2, Rainbow Six + Gold Missions Pack and Gangsters 2 for £70.00! Great bargain.

The offer ends tomorrow though (26.08.02) so be quick. However, I suggest you get the console from Special Reserve as they've got some good deals on, and then get the games from PC World.

I've seen what all of you have written and I think the cube is the console. Dont want an xbox now I think the games are overpriced, games are sometimes cheaper on the PS2 and Xbox, also this console will have online gaming one day. It has a good number of games coming out, Mario Sunshine looks wicked. Dont need a DVD player already got one.

Plus at the mo PC World are doing games for only £25 for cube, box and PS2 its a bargain, I think its only for a while check out www.pcworld.co.uk

What nasty neighbour is TRYING to say, da_1_n_only, is that if you can only buy 2 consoles, the the GameCube and PS2 would definitely be the best. There's a very miniscule amount of games coming out purely for the X-Box, compared to the huge amount of exclusive games the GameCube and PS2 has on offer. If you were to buy an X-Box, it would only be for a few games, instead of loads on Nintendo's machine.

The GameCube has a great future, on and offline. Great choice.

the notable is correct, but i meant that most games are realeased on GC and PS2 with xbox just getting more copys.

But im sure most will agree GC is best as nintendo caters for the strange but good games, rare caters for the shooting and both cater for adventure, fighting and "funny" racing games.
and try finding a monkey in a ball game.

its all good, as long as you dont like ummmm, realistic racers (although theres burnout and those other 3 racing games on the way) maybe you like.... umm sport (no wait iss2, and all that) how about stealth games ok you got me there.
