"PS2 or X-Box"

I'm going to have lots of money soon and because my PC sucks I think I'll buy my first console... hurrah.

Not a Gamecube because I don't want to play crap like Pikmin and Lugi's Mansion.

So Playstation 2 is cheaper than X-Box but not as good and has pretty good games.

X-Box is one big beast but Microsoft made my PC crap and it costs a lot.

So what should I get... give me good reasons and prices and stuff please?

I was going to save up for Les Paul or SG but I'm too crap to play such a lovely guitar so go now.

The cheapest game on GC is actually £15 though I wouldn't pay 50p for it.

If you buy just Platinum titles for a PS2 at £19.99 a shot then that leaves you another £15-20 a time to get drunk with. The cheapest Gamecube game is £31.99, the cheapest PS2 game is £12.99 (source: special.reserve.co.uk).

The only drawback is that if you get completely legless and fall over onto your console breaking it, the PS2 would cost more to replace.

As a PS2 owner, I've got no quibbles recommending it. But then I like the kind of games that are out there for it. If I owned a Gamecube I'd probably say the same thing.

If you're planning on just buying a console on its own and building up your game collection through GADs, then Gamecube is probably your best choice. Having said that, you can't take a Gamecube out of the box, plug it in, and watch the Erotic Witch Project straight away, whereas with a PS2 you can.

Tough decisions....

PS Bill Gates mucked up your computer on purpose to get you to buy an X-box by doing that .

I'd definitely get a GameCube, as Nintendo are the best games company out there, it won't eat a £200 hole in your pocket and if you don't like Pikmin or Luigi's Mansion (you should really give them a go) there's Star Wars: Rogue Squadron 2 and Super Smash Bros. Melee.

Atm Gamecube hasnt got the best games out but its still got a few good games like Super msash bros and Star wars rouge leader but later this year more good games will be coming out like Starfox adventures,Resident evil, Timspliters 2 and mario sunshine.All of the consoles have there Advantages and disadvantges but as i have a cube im sticking with it. I had to make that descion and i was stuck between Ps2 and cube back in april at the time the cube was cheper so i bought it on may 3rd and have no regrets about it

Xbox is the best value console aswell as the Gamecube. Hard Drive, online capability all built into the system - no extras needed buying such as in the PS2's case!

Oh and then there is Halo, best gamer ever.

if i were you i would buy the xbox. it has better games and graphics. xbox is coming out on the internet before playstation2. you have to pay 200$ for a hard drive for the playstation. you have to pay for every new game you play online with playstation2, and you have to pay to download onto the playstation2. on the xbox you have to buy a subscription every year, but you get a free game. also you have to pay 10.00$ a month. alot of companys wont support playstation2 online because alot wont spend so much money to play online.
