"PS2 or X-Box"

I'm going to have lots of money soon and because my PC sucks I think I'll buy my first console... hurrah.

Not a Gamecube because I don't want to play crap like Pikmin and Lugi's Mansion.

So Playstation 2 is cheaper than X-Box but not as good and has pretty good games.

X-Box is one big beast but Microsoft made my PC crap and it costs a lot.

So what should I get... give me good reasons and prices and stuff please?

They are just Some of the games coming to xbox over the next 18 months, theres going to be loads more. Also with XBOX Live (online service) theres about 50 games in development!

And thats just a short list of ones which im gonna get. Even SD4 on its own will be enough for me.

The XBox console, im sure, is good. But the games? LOL! Rubbish.

Anyway Sheepy, seeing as you don't want to play class like Pikmin and Smash Brothers, then I'll point you in the direction of what I think is the worthy second best.

The PS2 has the strong back catalogue which would give it an advantage.
But if you're into multiplayer and don't want to look "uncool" with Nintendo's cartoony image, Halo is great - especially if your mates have an Xbox and you Link them up for upto 16 players...

Wow..... thats like 7 games....... look at how many there are on the PS2 which are amazing. TONS!

Actually, no its not. They made the game and it was called WWF RAW. Then a little while later, the WWF changed thier name to WWE but the game was still out under the WWF name. If they have changed the name for the UK release then its ok but they would have to change the name throughout the whole game to WWE seeing as it was released under the WWF name in the USA.
So neeeeeer.
And I probably know much more about it than you.

i'd get a ps2 at this moment...
great back catalogue of games :D -rocks already...gonna rock more later

things to look forward to: too much to name!

xbox -recommended but only if you like the launch games like halo and dead or alive 3 etc...i've found all other titles only mediocre...roll on christmas -this is when it's gonna rock :D

things to look forward to: XBOX live and loadsa other stuff

gamecube -very disappointing in my opinion...only game i like is super monkey ball. find rogue leader merely okay, hate super smash bros melee. nice price though :D

things to look forward to (and the reason i have kept it)- metroid, mario, resi evil, final fantasy, super monkey ball 2,zelda, star fox adventures, f zero (or whatever it's called), eternal darknes...come out quick!

The hard drive allows faster loading times and bigger gamewolrds as data can be transferred onto it when you first insert the game disc, so games can load faster. Its the best game ever made in my opinion, still theres loads of other games.

Also theres LOADS of excellent games coming to the console, just you cannot be bothered to look, i cannot be bothered to make an über long list of games, but trust me there is a fair share of AAA titles coming out. Also with the prosepct of xbox LIVE (online service) the xbox is cheapest console out of the PS2 as it already has the Hard Drive and Ethernet port already built in.

Sheepy, depends on what games you like, I'd go for the Xbox or Gamecube in my opinion.

PS2 would be my choice if I hadnt got any console right now.

Reasons:

The games - GTA3, Smackdown3, Devil May Cry, MGS, GT3 and tons more out now.
The games coming out at a later date - GTA VC, Smackdown4, DMC2, MGS S, Tony Hawks 4, Stuntman, Tekken 4, The Getaway, Pro Evo 2, TIF2003...... there's loads of them and ive got two of the ones coming out soon already and they kick butt.

The DVD player - I really dont know why people say the PS2 one is bad. Mine works perfectly.

The backwards compatibilty - Theres a few games which were on the PSone which I didnt get and now im searching all over the place for them to play on my PS2 now that my PSone is nearly dead.

Erm.... I cant think of much more.

I cant think of reasons why you shouldnt buy it either.

Seriously, theres no games on the XBox that appeal to me, well...... apart from one......WWF RAW....... but that isnt as good as a PS2 game coming out soon which goes by the name of Smackdown 4.
