My point being didn't Nintendo say "they don't need fancy capabilities like dvd" funny that isn't it because without my PS2 I would not have been able to play it.

I need the PC for internet access.
I have a PS2 (with built in DVD), and a load of games. Most of these games are just ported to GC anyway so whats the point in swapping machines?

Even better value for money.

Seeing as the PC has to load classes, batch tasks, drivers for hardware, programs & software, the OS, etc, etc, etc, I would bet on the PS2 winning. That was a stupid analogy.

Even so, PC monitors have sharper screens which means better quality picture for our movies (and usually with PC speakers - better quality sound).
Sure, it means you have to watch on a PC Monitor, but most consoles are played on 14-inch TVs anyway (from what I've seen from friends anyway)

But if you're still watching the DVD, and for a much cheaper price then what does it matter how long it takes before you watch it?

Exactly, and that gives you the money to buy 2 or 3 GC games with 2 controllers and a Memory Card.

I will have a bet with you then I bet I can put a dvd in my ps2 and start watching it before your cheap PC has even fully booted.

What? I bought the DVD-ROM separate for £58. Add on the price of the GameCube (£130), you get £188. Now then, I remember the PS2 being £300 when first released. See the difference?
