...the Ps2 is still outselling the combined sales of the GC and Xbox by over 5 fold! (In Japan at least).

Sales for the week May 27th-June 2nd in Japan:

PS2: 60,000
GBA: 36,200
PS1: 7,900
Xbox: 5,700
GC: 5,400

Am I still right in thinking the Japs use the PS2 as a first choice DVD player?

I'd just love to know how many people actually live in Japan to be honest because every week, the PS2 seems to sell 60,000 units a week or more. Seeing as its been out for 2 years or so, every man, woman, child and sperm must own one by now.

Probably in the minority then... GC sales in Europe appear to be very good indeed

Yikes, the PSone is still selling in the thousands! Not bad for a console which has been out for about 8 years.
