Bollards.
Why can't you see it's exactly the same as the DualShock 2 but with less features? Let's run through this:
· D-pad - check
· Two analog sticks - check
· Four main buttons - check
· Shoulder buttons - check
· Rumble - nope
· Full analog on ALL buttons - nope
· 4 shoulder buttons - nope
· Analog sticks as sensitive as the DualShock 2 - nope
· Ability to drop for storeys and still work perfectly - nope
Excuse me if I'm wrong but surely if it's the SAME shape with the SAME layout but with less functions, that makes it worse? Oh no, sorry, I'm missing out the facts that it's purple and made by Nintendo, that automatically makes it far superior, I'm terribly sorry.
I dare any of you to prove to me that the GameCube controller is better than the DualShock 2 - and saying that "it's more comfortable" is a cop-out.

Wow! I just typed a whole topic explaining that about perfection most probably whilst you were typing your reply...spooky
Why bother improving something that's really quite funning good? The DualShock 2 is familliar to gamers. Nintendo tried improving on the N64 controller and failed. Sony tried improving on the DualShock and succeesed very well. Sure, it's not new and original, but we don't really want it to be. I'm be much happier with how it is now than risk it with change. Plus I'd have to get used to a whole new controller again, which is really annoying.

People who believe something is perfect are the reason things don't progress. You can never get anything which is perfect... Has any decent games mag given any game 100%? I doubt it severely, because no game is perfect, and I doubtr any controller will ever be perfect. There is always going to be some kind of trade off between the number of buttons and how complex it is, additional features and weight, blah blah... designers need to continually change and experiment with these features, and Sony are not doing that because they know that fanatical Sony fans *looks at Turbonutter* still think they are holding perfection... basically Sony know they can get away with sticking with the same thing rather than try something new which will cost a bit more to develop and may scare some people who are afraid of change...

I was waiting for this, and I;m amazed it took this long. So, I have prepared this statement:
THE WAVEBIRD IS NOT THE GAMECUBE CONTROLLER
Right, next?
BLASPHEMER!
:)
I wanted the double century.
That's right, never been in a cex store (unless you count Caroline St. in Cardiff), and therefore never bought anything there...
Damn I want a Wavebird Controller...
Yes, the Wavebird controller is a beast. Check IGN's review for it act http://cube.ign.com . 9.5??? That is awesome. Plus, they managed to test and achieve a 90 ft response distance. The means if you're working in a factory, you could be sat at one end, playing on your GameCube with a Wavebird controller which was right down the other end. Nice, hey?
Plus, the design has been unaltered, which is great in my opinion. It does sacrifice the rumble feature for wireless radio-waves play, but I think its a small price to pay. Even more tantalising is that you can play with up to 16 players (16 channels) without interference.
I think this will revolutionise game playing. And finally, I'll be able to play my games, lying in bed!
Brilliant! Roll on Saturday when I'm hopping down to my local CEX and buying one...
It wasn't as interesting with everyone singing about the brilliance of GTA3 in every post. There wasn't any disagreement.
I think SR should open up forums specifically for some good biased mud slinging :) Forums like: Multiformat Games Forum, The Best Console Forum etc. They would really get blood boiling. As long as people who got personal were banned.
What do you reckon? Or are you bored of console wars discussion?
