Bollards.
Why can't you see it's exactly the same as the DualShock 2 but with less features? Let's run through this:
· D-pad - check
· Two analog sticks - check
· Four main buttons - check
· Shoulder buttons - check
· Rumble - nope
· Full analog on ALL buttons - nope
· 4 shoulder buttons - nope
· Analog sticks as sensitive as the DualShock 2 - nope
· Ability to drop for storeys and still work perfectly - nope
Excuse me if I'm wrong but surely if it's the SAME shape with the SAME layout but with less functions, that makes it worse? Oh no, sorry, I'm missing out the facts that it's purple and made by Nintendo, that automatically makes it far superior, I'm terribly sorry.
I dare any of you to prove to me that the GameCube controller is better than the DualShock 2 - and saying that "it's more comfortable" is a cop-out.
If there is just ONE console, there's no competition and the one company who dominates will rip EVERYONE off (devellopers AND games players).
Nintendo abused their power in the days of the Nes and Snes.
They also did at first with the N64, then when all the players/devellopers went to the Playstation, they quickly changed their strategy.
All 3 company's might be being nice right now, while they need to stay one step ahead of their opponents, but if ANY of them take control, it'll be bad for everyone.
But while there's competition, they're being nice.
So lets keep the competition.
Let the console wars continue!
So this new AMAZING pad is the SAME GC pad without the rumble feature??! The only benefit being you don't have to put the lead away afterwards?
Brilliant! I've heard it all now!

Not exactly unbiased, though! Any PS2 mag you ask about the DS2 will give it a 10.

I'll take that as a very tongue-in-cheek comment. After all, what practical use is 90ft with a controller? First off, who EVER sits that far away? And even if you did, you wouldn't even be able to see what you were playing! Or is the next Nintendo 'revolution' going to strap-on binocular game glasses?! :-)
Good argument.

Er, close but no banana. Half a banana.

Nintendo are marketing it as the Gamecube controller replacement, you can even exchange your original controllers! But then you didn't know that.
I feel the cube's controller has been designed specifically for games, as if it was designed with games in mind, the Dual shock feels a bit balnd so all third parties can use it. The N64 pad was designed for Goldeneye, Mario and Zelda did you know that? As for Gamecube's well to be honest I haven't a clue what it was designed for, probably Mario and Zelda again and maybe Pikmin. Dual Shock is a universal pad, it has many more features than any other controller just isn't specific or next generation. It is unoriginal as Turbonutter said and in the words of the great Satouri Iwata "Gamers are getting bored".
Dringo.
Luckily I take this light hearted, but I'm sure some Nintendo fan somewhere who thinks, like most PS2 fans do about Sony, the sun shines our of Nintendo's backside, might start getting stressed out over this.
Just think like I am in that it's Turbonutter's problem, not mine. The GameCube controller is fine and the fact I dislike the PS2 controller doesn't make much of an impact on someone like me who rarely plays it anyway.
