For me, its not started off at all like any of the previous games, they seemed to throw you into the action straight off, you got to actually do some playing while the story got off to a rushing start, this game hasnt done that to me yet, and this is one of the most important parts of the game.
You have to say that a game really needs a good begining to get things up and running, FF10 starts pretty slow....then with the blitzball scene it gets really good and im starting to think im back in FF, them something strange happens and the game just slowed down again.
Its not all bad, im intrigued to find out whats happening next, and it does seem to be building to something big, its just that, well, i think the graphics may have gone to Squares head at the minute, so far i havent played, i have watched, i hope its starts to improve in that aspect soon.
Got to say though, the graphics and character animations are very nice indeed, but still, a little more play would be nice sometime soon.
I have been able to get 'Break Max MP' for some time now but it hasn't looked too enticing since none of my characters have been any where near 999MP (closest is Yuna and Lulu obviously with around 550 each).
However, I got my first piece of Dark Matter today and it made 'Break Max Damage' show up! Finally I'll be able to take more than 9999 with people other than Bahuteman! The thing is, I have no idea how many Dark Matters I need and I only have 1.
I also have 4 Amulets which made Pickpocket show up. I still don't have enough to get it though. Still not got Master Thief showing up either.
I have a Double AP with Tidus but I can't upgrade it anymore which is really annoying. Also, I'm a bit hesitant to upgrade yet as I just know that when I do I'm going to find a Triple AP weapon or something similar!
At the moment, I can only upgrade 1 weapon to get Double AP (You need 20 Megalixirs and I only have 31). I have the 99 Door to Tomorrows though so I can upgrade 10 weapons to have Overdrive - AP.
I think that I'll give Auron Double AP and Overdrive - AP and then just give everyone else Overdrive to AP. I'll do that later.
Anyway, only got a few exams left. Maths tomorrow, Graphics on Thursday, Stats and RE on Friday and then Physics next Wednesday. Then that's me done! Plus I have my hifi being delivered tomorrow. At least that's something to look forward to after my Maths exam.

Lucky. I'd have bought the American version if I'd have been able to play it :)
i think it's called santcar keeper. i had one quick go at it and it battered me. i may have a proper go at it later but any tips before i try it?
Anyway, I'm fighting Don Tonberry. I've got two characters' overdrive modes on comrade, one on stoic. The person on stoic (Wakka for me) attacks Don Tonberry, who'll counter with an incredibly strong Karma taking off 60,000 HP. The other people cure him, then he attacks again. I can usually get in 4 to 5 attacks and karmas before Don Tonberry gets up close, when I'll just flee. The amount of AP you receive is equal to the amount of damage Wakka took! In some cases that means an extra... oh... 17 slvls!!!!!
To get the items required to learn overdrive -> AP ability, you have to get all the monsters from six areas and the guy at the monster arena will give you 99 of the items. Since overdrive -> AP only requires 10, you'll have quite a few left over afterwards. Nifty!
i was doing perfectly fine until then...whipped her the second time round and made sure that yuna had anti death on her armour!
"Why the hell did I not just cure her and THEN attack!?" :-D
I did Yunalesca in my first attempt, but I was extremely close to dying. It was just Auron and Yuna left with Kimarhi down on the floor and it was Yuna's go. I decided to Cure Auron and then use Auron (his go next) to revive Kimarhi with a Phoenix Down. So I clicked Curaga and clicked on Auron, completely forgetting he was on Zombie status!! There goes 6000HP! Yunalesca's go and I can't remember what she did to attack but it left Yuna with about 4HP!! I recovered from it though and killed her.
I was fighting Yunalesca, and doing surprisingly easy. I was casting holy which was doing 9999 damage, and Wakka was attacking for 9999. Everybody had haste, regen, shell and protect. Then she cast that move which makes everybody a zombie. I healed two of the people (since regen was killing them) and left Rikku on Zombie. Then I got to her third form, and she cast mega-death, killing the people who weren't on zombie. Lucky that Rikku was then. After a mega-phoenix, I was doing amazing, except for the fact that Regen was gradually killing Rikku who was on Zombie. Rikku was on about 50 HP and Tidus had one last go to do something to Yunalesca. He attacked her, Rikku died from regen and then Yunalesca cast Mega-death.
How annoying.
Reset.
Retry.
Arrrggghhhhh!!!
Anyway, as for the boss.....
Make sure you start the fight with all your characters and Aeons on overdrives. Then make a few hits on him (get all your characters involved so they all get AP) before getting Yuna to summon Bahuteman. Do your overdrive and then he'll banish him. On Yuna's next turn, call another Aeon and do it's overdrive. Then another, and another, and another. Always do their overdrives first as he banishes them after their first attack. I can't remember if he is immune to any elements (if he is then don't summon the elemental Aeons). Once he begins his countdown to Total Anihalation, you should be okay HP-wise as he just waits (unless of course you don't kill him in time as then it's game over :-D).
And just a quick tip: Don't take any chances! When I fought him, he had 1100HP left and I had one last attack before he did his Total Anihalation move. I could have made Yuna summon an Aeon to finish him with an overdrive without a doubt, but for some reason I didn't. Why I didn't I have no idea! I guess I thought I could kill him with Tidus so I took the chance and did a normal attack with him. I only took 1000 off him so with only 100HP left, he anihalated my party. Grrr....
