I've been informed that the beginning of the game set on a space ship and the end where you battle an enemy called "The Flood" are pretty much crap, but the rest of the game set in huge open environments is supposed to be great.
I like the look of that dropship level that I've seen in a few vids, and I always love to get my hands on a controllable vehicle or two, but because of the amount of FPS I've played this year I just can't see anything Halo has to offer that I haven't already experienced elsewhere. Still if it's entertaining enough I won't mind, I do enjoy a good bit of FPS action whether it's as good as people say or not.
Also, multiplayer certainly does seem to be where all the praise for this PC conversion is coming from, but for some reason Gearbox didn't keep the co-op mode. Why? I'd love to play a bit co-op with other people online, it's something you see very rarely on multiplayer PC games. Oh well, I suppose a few modders out there will sort this eventually.
Any good points about Postal 2, apart from the freelance violence?
Playing co-op campaign was cool though. I suspect multiplayer is a blast.
My next purchase though is leaning towards Halo. I Played the Chrome demo again and it is fun, but I don't think it's worth £25. Halo did get 91% in this months PCG, though I tend to take their reviews with a pinch of salt after they gave Delta Force Black Hawk Down 90 odd percent and said the A.I. only occasionally messes up, yet only gave Vietcong 70 odd percent and failed to really mention the groundbreaking A.I. in the game.
Halo multiplayer does sound a blast though, and while I'm not expecting much from the single player, I can't wait to try it online. From what I hear it's in the Battlefield 1942 school of online games, which is a good thing in my book.
Recently bought Homeworld II, which is very good, although the changes made to the "salvage" system are hugely disappointing. But with ships looking like Star Destroyers hyperspacing in and out of epic battles, it has more than enough to compensate.
No shortage of them this year, but whats the next one you'll be getting? I'm thinking about Chrome since it has been getting quite bit of praise by some people, but less by others. I enjoyed the demo and really liked the huge open environments and drivable vehicles, though I'm not sure whether to give this one a miss and wait for Halo next week. Decisions Decisions.
Apparently it takes several minutes to load most pages!
I think 'Auction Man' will hold a special at his house... :)
