There is a considerabl difference between Xbox and PS2, ever seen footage of Xbox Halo 2 or Splinter Cell? I like good looking games, it increase the enjoyment I get out of game.

>Get the PS2, as it has the best games and with it's huge user base, has the best potential.

Huge user base becuase it had a year and a half head start, that's nothing really linked with quality. PS2 had the adavntage of the succes of PS1, something the xbox doesn't.

Best games is down to opinion, Xbox has a healthy selection already with a game that has been voted countless times as Game of the year, Halo. The ps2s potential? What is it? XboxLive looks likely to be ASTOUNDING, the next big thing in the games industry. PS2s showing its age already and xbox is a tenner cheaper.

Weigh everything up and I my view Xbox is the logical choice. It will become even more apparant in the coming months when the second generation of great games arrive for it.

First of all, it's really quite impossible to get a fair load of opinions in a forum dedicated to the X-Box. Why not post a similar topic in FOG (Chat) or the PS2 forum?

Secondly, although my first thoughts are 'Have you considered a GameCube?', it looks like you've got your heart set on a PS2 or X-Box. And when it comes down to it, the PS2 has a huge and fantastic back catalogue of games (over 400), with something for everyone.

Don't be fooled by this 'graphics' business, as it's really a very tight contest between all the consoles, so it shouldn't really sway you. Get the PS2, as it has the best games and with it's huge user base, has the best potential. I'm sure your boyfriend won't mind when he's playing classics such as Deus Ex, Metal Gear Solid 2, GTA3, Final Fantasy X, GTA Vice City, The Getaway, Angel Of Darkness and many more.

PS2's the right choice.

Did that 'Babe' ever get a straight answer outta you guys?

To have 2 consoles is akin to supporting Manu and the Arsenal at the same match...This is Emporer Gates' master plan...you fools.

I'm in a similar ideal situation. I own a PS2 whilst my housemate owns an Xbox. This means that i get to play all the Xboxs good titles, yet i wont lose out at all if (when?) the Xbox becomes obsolete.
