Plus he got overtaken by Button in the McLaren which is not good!

It's nice to see Alonso doing well in the practice for the Indy 500. If he has a good race then maybe it will give him some confidence back and help McLaren improve this season. Let's face it, they can't get much worse.
Ditching Honda would do them a world of good for a start.
After his engine problems in practice Bottas had more of the same in the race, being forced to retire after his engine blew up mid-race. In front of his home crowd Alonso couldn't make up the places after going across the gravel at the start and finished in 12th.
It was an entertaining GP and the modifications to the Mercedes cars have done the trick, Hamilton is now only 6 points behind Vettel, with Bottas a further 35 behind.
If the rest of the race is like this we're in for a treat!
Interesting article here on Vettel's future, especially the bit about a pre-contract pact with Mercedes. I know it's all speculation but if he were to go to Mercedes who would make way for him, Hamilton or Bottas?
It was a great drive by Hamilton, Vettel was far faster than him in the first two sectors but lost all that time and more in the third. However, the drive of the day probably goes to Alonso, who in front of his home crowd somehow managed to get his milk float into 7th on the grid.
