I was going through the archive earlier and came across Turbo’s Web Design Pledge. Although I can vaguely remember this when it happened, I thought nothing of it, but upon reading it again, something really caught my eye.

“However, the forum is just being "used". Where as forums like the FOG are ever-popular, with people visiting regularly and generally having fun, the Web Design forum is merely being "used" for question and such like. Well, no longer! I want to turn this forum into a proper community.”

He is right here, this forum is only really used by people wanting questions answered, but I think that this forum is probably the best on the site. Mainly because nearly everyone in here knows what they are talking about. But I don’t like how the forum is used just for questions.

So here is what I propose, we use this thread for general chat. Not just web design, anything at all. Since not many people pass through this forum anymore, it won’t get spammed up too much, it’ll just be a place where people can go to be themselves.

If it doesn’t work, then fine. I just think this thread will be able to make this forum more of a community.

So… what’s up everyone? :0)

Heh, indeed. I still stroke my antec, but it's getting a bit boring now, want to attack something else...

Only real other h'aluminium cases worth looking at are the lian-lis, apparently slightly poorer build quality, and certinly don't look as nice, but cheaper and still good for heat reduction. The sunflowers are suchlike tend to use very thin aluminium and be of a lower quality, harder to work in. This antec may as well be a full tower, so spacious inside, makes up for the lack of a removeable mobo tray.

I've got no idea what they are, we're not allowed to touch them yet, along with the other 20k's worth of stuff they just bought, they've got 16 of these PCs though,i'll get a look soon enough, i'm hoping to buy one of thir old P3s :) but anyway, these new ones rule, they've got amazing specs on them and I think they were pretty cheap, 17" flat screens P4 2000Mhz, loads of stuff, I think they're putting XP on them, I hope they don't keep ME it didn't work very well withthe old PCs.

To be honest i've never considered buying a CM I saw them and they looked overpriced, they're obviously damn good cases but i'm sure theres something similar around of the same build, and the Orchid 860B, is that the same as you've got in all those Piccies? the sliding door is quite a fashion statement for PCs :) is nice.

Ooh, you lucky sod. Rob's is an Orchid 860B, black with a sliding door on the front..looks ok, not great to work with though. Mobo was worse, but I wont go in to my rant about Epox now..

What CM cases have you got? I spent ages saving for one, then shrugged and bought a guitar instead, my Antec's good for now. I love the 210s, and the 710 caught my eye, not heard much about it though. The 600 looks fairly nice, but is far too expensive...rather get a barebones shuttle for that money really..

Yup, Rar has XP and Debian dual boot, sitting beside me humming nicely...and generating a huge amount of heat. Rob, I'm starting to hate this case, heh, the space for the exhaust fan is only 60mm, which is gah. I've fitted one of my own thermaltakes in there to at least make use of it, leaving the side off to be safe for now anyway...

...ok...

cjh: I'm working on getting a .com for enterthefog but it's on geocities atthe mo, or www.enterthefog.tk which isn't too bad, it's a bit of a mess and not completed but i'm updating it, hopefully it'll be done tonight, i've actually got some work to do today *shock*

Thats good news about the discount :) saving money is never a bad thing, also Fdisking is great! I hated it at first, but it's nice to start from scratch, gives oua better idea on how things are run.

Also XP will be good, anything new will be, arn't you going to run Linux aswell as XP on rar?

Rar, my über-box, has XP on it. As long as it plays CS, does *MX and doesn't crash, then I'll use it. It's all I want it for, anyway.

Well, actually, Luke HAS got CS running perfectly under Linux...

I havn't used 2K but aparently it's much better than all previous Windows OSs, aparantly XPs better but most people i've talked to about it have said it looks childish and Windows expect their users to be blind and made the buttons bigger (I havn't seen it though)
2Ks got improved game stabilty which is never a bad thing, Win98 crashes too much, it really is annoying, it's not so much out of the blue and i'm sure it's mostly my fault that it crashes :) but it could be better.

Tricks eh? :D ok, excuse my stoopidness :) i'm updating my site (enterthefog) for what seems to be the 10th time already, this tie though,it's using php include so hopefully updating it will be a sinch.
i'm actually quite chuffed with the design this time...*crosses fingers* hopefully other people will too.

Whats everyone else been upto? exams? *laughs from his examless course*

Wonderful...
... and so easy-to-use even for a technophobe like me. I had my website up in a couple of hours. Thank you.
