I was going through the archive earlier and came across Turbo’s Web Design Pledge. Although I can vaguely remember this when it happened, I thought nothing of it, but upon reading it again, something really caught my eye.

“However, the forum is just being "used". Where as forums like the FOG are ever-popular, with people visiting regularly and generally having fun, the Web Design forum is merely being "used" for question and such like. Well, no longer! I want to turn this forum into a proper community.”

He is right here, this forum is only really used by people wanting questions answered, but I think that this forum is probably the best on the site. Mainly because nearly everyone in here knows what they are talking about. But I don’t like how the forum is used just for questions.

So here is what I propose, we use this thread for general chat. Not just web design, anything at all. Since not many people pass through this forum anymore, it won’t get spammed up too much, it’ll just be a place where people can go to be themselves.

If it doesn’t work, then fine. I just think this thread will be able to make this forum more of a community.

So… what’s up everyone? :0)

I like it. Take more care with you spelling though. Oh. And the table you have wrapped around it all is too big. Make it small enough to fit your content in, but not so big as to cause scrollbars along the bottom of the browser for no reason. You have lots of white space which is good, I'd just make your initail table smaller.

its not bad, but it might be a bit too minimalist. if ur a band, u might want to jazz it up a bit with images reflecting the type of music u play...

heh the line thingy worked and it's cool :-)

I need opinions on this rough version of a site I made and as much improvements as possible you can suggest and how I can do them if they are complicated.

It's for my band called aura.

Take a look at www.aura-online.tk

If you could help, thanks.

why? I don't see the point in using it, if I need to write anything in I use Dreamweaver's 'design' view.

Hmmm, that didn't work how I thought it would, try it, look at how it displays in the textbox, then see how the browser renders it after posting, interesting stuff. Kids, learn all your HTML " " type codes!

By hitting Alt, then 3 random numbers on your keypad, you can make ASCII art, like so... ¨^¨j¨a ¡ö¨„¨{ and stuff like that, cool if you can get the hang of it.

:D nice one, I didn't know shift + enter was a single line, I like
a lot more though as I tend to write html more often than not and they're just so easy.

Heh, don't, not many people know the difference, return starts a new paragraph, shift + enter starts a new line. Most people use single line spacing between paragraphs so it doesnt look any different, but by default the web uses double line spacing, so you end up with the gap.

And that, children, was Andi's lesson of the day. *bows*
