I was going through the archive earlier and came across Turbo’s Web Design Pledge. Although I can vaguely remember this when it happened, I thought nothing of it, but upon reading it again, something really caught my eye.

“However, the forum is just being "used". Where as forums like the FOG are ever-popular, with people visiting regularly and generally having fun, the Web Design forum is merely being "used" for question and such like. Well, no longer! I want to turn this forum into a proper community.”

He is right here, this forum is only really used by people wanting questions answered, but I think that this forum is probably the best on the site. Mainly because nearly everyone in here knows what they are talking about. But I don’t like how the forum is used just for questions.

So here is what I propose, we use this thread for general chat. Not just web design, anything at all. Since not many people pass through this forum anymore, it won’t get spammed up too much, it’ll just be a place where people can go to be themselves.

If it doesn’t work, then fine. I just think this thread will be able to make this forum more of a community.

So… what’s up everyone? :0)

Yeah GTA3, GT3, MGS2 are the only games that seem to appeal to me on the PS2, doesn't seem worth it for some reason, guess they'll all be abaliable on other formats soon enough *crosses fingers*
I hate it when people say "your not old enough for that game" who cares? your not gonna have nightmares over it, so it's a bit violent, i've seen PG movies that have made me jump :) if you like it, nothings wrong with it.

No doubt the console is good, all I ever hear is good things about the console so i'm not about to say it's a bad console, just not for me, I think it's because i'd rather have four ports than 2, most games on the N64 have 4 person multiplayer options if they don't they're either RPGs where you wouldn't want more than 1 player or crap games in general, it's great having mates over and being able to play pretty much any game together, great idea.
But then again best game I ever played on Multiplayer was International Track and Field and that was 8 player, kinda kicked the N64's ash.

Madden games eh? thats American Football no? they seem like great games, but doesn't it take ages to get used to all the controls and learn the good skills? I guess football games are all the same and therefore easy to get used to.

I know what you mean about buying a console for a few games, it's just not worth it. But with my PS2, I've got quite a few that appeal to me. Pro Evolution Soccer, GTA3 (I know I'm not old enough :D), Dave Mirra 2, Tony Hawk's 3, SSX Tricky etc. There are also a few games that I'm looking forward to such as FFX and I wouldn't mind getting the new Madden game.

I've also been meaning to get my grubby paws on a copy of MGS2 and SoE. Havn't got round to it yet though, been spending all my money on music recently.

I wouldn't buy a PS2 jst for a few games, my mates have the FF series, i'd borrow their console if I ever wanted to play it, I guess i've never really wanted to, turn based battles don't hold much fun for me, but it's obviously a good thing, otherwise it wouldn't be so popular.

I remeber the first time I played online with my baby (Broadband) it was UT and 20 people were pretty much all shooting at me, lovely, didn't get any lag at all, I seem to get quite high pings of 40 recently, still no lag, but it doesn't look as impressive :)

You only really notice the difference with big downloads and flash movies.
Tis good though, I was downloading a couple of games and decided to stream a movie off the net too, worked perfectly *strokes modem*

Well, if you're worried about completing games within weekends, Final Fantasy X is coming out soon. Also, you could get other Final Fantasy games that were released on the PSX, all are pretty cheap and will keep you occupied for weeks.

I almost got a N64 once, but I decided not to and instead, I got a few games and a new stereo. Havn't really regretted it though as one of my mates has one so if I ever want to play it, I just go round there :D.

I used to like online gaming a lot, played Age Of Empires a helluva a lot on the zone. Sort of lost interest because of the damn lag. I guess you don't suffer from that with your damn broadband. I want broadband!!

Worlds best? well nothing less would appear on a Nintendo console :p
You must be lucky if nothings gone wrong, i doubt anything serious will ever happen to the PS2s, just the PSXs which seem to have cheap parts and break down, shame, they are good consoles.

I stay faithful to Nintendo doesn't mean it won't break down on me, I'd like to get a PS2 but I only want a few games, only bad point about the games is that they seem to get completed within a weekend, I don't like that, takes me ages to complete games on the mighty N64, and i'm far from crap.

PC games are at the top of my list at the moment though, since I (my dad) got the pc upgraded i've got loads of new games, I love online gaming, I guess it's better with a super fast modem :D

I think I'm one of the lucky ones, never had any problems with my PSX or PS2. Maybe because I stayed faithful to them and never bought a DC or N64. You never know...

Speaking of Nintendo, I got my SNES out the other day. Super Mario Kart rules, way better than Mario Kart 64. Also, I had a little bash on Super Mario World, quite possibly one of the greatest platform games ever.

Ah yes, the price is a bit much, but it's the best console around, not sure the games will be too good. I'm getting my hands on a GC as soon as it's released, should be worth my money, it's half price of the Xbox too, never a bad thing.
I would get a PS2 for the games, but I hate everything to do with Sony, probably said this a million times, but my gorgeous Hi-fi and Minidisc have pretty much packed up, i've only had them 4 years! should have spent my money elsewhere :) all my mates have had problems with their PSXs yet my N64 is still chugging away merrily.

Also I know the games on the GC will be good, thats all I need.

Lol, that's the spirit :D. I would probably get an X-Box but the hefty price tag really puts me off. £300 is steep anyway you look at it, then when you think the games are £40 a pop, it really adds up. I'm happy with my PS2 and PC at the moment anyway. Been playing Allied Assault quite a bit, it rules :D.

Yeah, it's nice to see the new games/consoles but you'll always get more out of it if you play the game longer.
I played HALO and DOA3 on the XBOX, DOA3 wasn't anything new really, but undoubtably, the graphics are amazing, just seems fighting games are all the same.

HALO kicked ash, lots of shooting makes me happy, I havn't seen much of it, I think the guy before me put the settings on
:everyone kill the new guy: leaving me with enough time to take the scenery in before getting used for target practice. Looking forward to one of my mates buying one so I can have another go.

I had my first, and only, go on one a few weeks ago. Halo was loaded up so I had a little play on that. Don't know what all the fuss about that game is really, I guess I can't slate it though after playing on it for about 10 minutes.
