I was going through the archive earlier and came across Turbo’s Web Design Pledge. Although I can vaguely remember this when it happened, I thought nothing of it, but upon reading it again, something really caught my eye.

“However, the forum is just being "used". Where as forums like the FOG are ever-popular, with people visiting regularly and generally having fun, the Web Design forum is merely being "used" for question and such like. Well, no longer! I want to turn this forum into a proper community.”

He is right here, this forum is only really used by people wanting questions answered, but I think that this forum is probably the best on the site. Mainly because nearly everyone in here knows what they are talking about. But I don’t like how the forum is used just for questions.

So here is what I propose, we use this thread for general chat. Not just web design, anything at all. Since not many people pass through this forum anymore, it won’t get spammed up too much, it’ll just be a place where people can go to be themselves.

If it doesn’t work, then fine. I just think this thread will be able to make this forum more of a community.

So… what’s up everyone? :0)

The oldest user on these forums has to be Cooky in the Nintendo forum at eight hundred and something days!

Yeah, I thought so.

But have you seen the "Post Your Portfollio" thread? The table cell which holds our username, status and time the message was posted has gone a little bit short to me!

Yeah, they have. I think they've increased the width size on the messages to stop the problem that was occuring with the 'Reply Quoting This Message' feature.

By the way Dan, don't worry too much about your mocks. Whatever your teachers say isn't really true, they count for nothing. In our school, the teachers made the mocks out to be more important than the real things, idiots. I didn't revise at all and blagged B's and C's :D.

Dammit. Am I the oldest here or what?

I'm 25 (nearly 26 though), and live in Doncaster, but I'm about to move to Leeds, where I work as a developer. Mostly I build the backend to websites, but I can make a site look nice if I have to, for instance www.funkygamer.com.

Erm, I got a degree a while ago, but I still believe that experience is at least as important as qualifications, so if you are worried about messing up your exams, don't worry too much, as long as you can prove what you can do, you should be OK.

I'm into sci-fi books and films, gaming obviously, and music, I like house and hip-hop, but am partial to a bit of rock now and then.

And I hate frames. Kids, don't do frames! Just say NO!
