I was going through the archive earlier and came across Turbo’s Web Design Pledge. Although I can vaguely remember this when it happened, I thought nothing of it, but upon reading it again, something really caught my eye.

“However, the forum is just being "used". Where as forums like the FOG are ever-popular, with people visiting regularly and generally having fun, the Web Design forum is merely being "used" for question and such like. Well, no longer! I want to turn this forum into a proper community.”

He is right here, this forum is only really used by people wanting questions answered, but I think that this forum is probably the best on the site. Mainly because nearly everyone in here knows what they are talking about. But I don’t like how the forum is used just for questions.

So here is what I propose, we use this thread for general chat. Not just web design, anything at all. Since not many people pass through this forum anymore, it won’t get spammed up too much, it’ll just be a place where people can go to be themselves.

If it doesn’t work, then fine. I just think this thread will be able to make this forum more of a community.

So… what’s up everyone? :0)

Actually, thing about it, does anyone here know about the 'producer-consumer' problem in the computing area??? or any Web Sites that detail it??

Thanks.

Hey there Gabbo ... things are not good for me right now. I'm working on an assignment for Tuesday, and I have another to do. It's been the college holidays so I couldn't really get any help or info. I broke my Rib 2 weeks ago and it still bugs me, lost my nan last week - had her funeral on Friday previous to the one just gone, so haven't been concentrating on my work ... not been the best 3 weeks of my life, but give it till Wednesday where half the load on my back should be gone :o)

How about you mate??
How's tricks??

LOL!
Yeah probably a sign that it's not the best ride for you, I like those Pirate ships though, always seems to be a huge queue on the waltzers.
Wet rides are a bit pointless if it's a cold day, dry off quickly on the faster rides :)

I've seen that ride on this top ten coasters in the world programme. I think it's called the Buzzsaw or something. There is this one ride at Drayton Manor called Stormforce 10. It's the best log flume I've ever been on. At one point, you go down a drop backwards at about 35 m/ph. You get absolutely soaked which is alright on a nice day, but if it's cold, you come home suffering from pnumonia.

There are two types of rides that I don't like. Things like the pirate ship and things like the Waltzers. I don't know why I don't like them, they just don't agree with my body ie. I want to throw up every time I go on them. I should probably just stop going on them shouldn't I? :D

Little late adding this bit, but here goes:

Name: Chris J Haig
Age: 19
From: Taunton in Somerset
Into: Music (most styles but not so much the heavy stuff 'Slipknot' *Shudders*), Sports - Footie and Basketball mainly, WWF, TV, Sky One programs , Movies, Traveling about - seeing the world, going out with friends, cycling up the hills when I can, Web Design (more so the behind the scense stuff, PHP, HTML, things like that).

Got my BTEC ND Last year in Computer Studies, and doing my HND in Computer Studies this year and the next ... though it dose suck a lot I'm only sticking it out for that HND Grade :o).

After college ... haven't got a clue (any suggestions), but I wouldn't mind going into telivision production .. the putting together (editing) area of shows.

Anything else, don't think s just now?!?!

I like the idea of this Thread though, mostly just a Q&A Forum before, lets hope this sticks out :O)

:( I was forced to go to America out of my own will, strange my dad sold some stamps to get us there :D no doubt you'd have Broadband if they served it to your area, tis a shame though.

Also i've never heard of the Alph..whatjemacall it, I actually like all the temporary rides more like the things you see in fields (tumbledryer...etc) big rides arn't much, althogh saying that, one in America, it was a log flume ride, so you wern't straped in or anything then all of a sudden it took you outside onto a rollcoaster, it's safe to say I shat my pants, soggy pants isn't nice, damn best ride i've ever been on though.

Ahh, but I've got UT installed on my comp and I don't the need the disk to run it. *he should buy that :D*

I live quite close to Alton Towers and Drayton Manor so I often go to at least one of them in the holidays. I personally prefer Alton Towers, Oblivion, Nemisis and the Ripsaw all rule.

Went to American eh? Meh, always got to go one better havn't you? I go on my nice little Oblivion, you go on something like Alpengeist. I've got my little 56k chugging away and there you are, with your 512k like your on top of the world. :D

I agree, SSB:M and Luigi's Mansion do look pretty impressive. Havn't seen many other games mind. It is a shame that the GC can't play film DVDs, but when you add the cost of a DVD player on top of the actual GC, the price gets closer to that of the X-Box's.

I'm like you at the moment, I'm happy just playing games on my PC. I don't think I'll ever get bored of games like UT, Age of Empires, Allied Assault, RTCW etc. I've even been playing on Rollercoaster Tycoon a lot recently, probably trying to satisfy my need for rollercoasters. I havn't been to a theme park this holiday :(.
