I am also praying. I know lets all get together like in Oddworld and chant :)

No need to change it in between games.
You choose which ID to sign on as and then keep signed in until you stop playing.

Hmmm.
It'll still be the same signature code from your machine/credit card/subscription account, so MS will still be able to police you, but you'll be using a different name/identity so you'll be yourself rather than share a "family name" between all the people who use the Xbox.

I'll hope so.
Praying that I get to be a Beta tester. ;-)

Yeah maybe. But MS has said from the start that it wants XBox live to be easy, and having the same Nick all the time without having to keep changing it between games would be easy. I am pretty sure your only allowed 1 Nick, and that Nick is the same from when you register. This then allows MS and other gamers whether someone is cheating or just being a pain. You can't go along swearing, cheating, being unfair and ruining the game as MS will know.
So I think that it will be either paying £40 a few times or using the same Nick for a few people. You might be able to register more than one Nick for your £40 but I doubt it.

IGN say that once you've installed the live software onto your hardrive, Xbox live becomes an option in the same menu as Music etc (when you boot up the console without a game.)
Create a new account is an option, along with manage accounts.
Perhaps you're allowed a few identities per subscription...
Useful if more than one person uses the Xbox.
The hardest part will be trying to persuade mum and dad to invest in broadband...
