The "Sony Games" forum, which includes Retro Game Reviews, has been archived and is now read-only. You cannot post here or create a new thread or review on this forum.
Now I really didnt want to touch this subject again, but seriously this is becoming a joke.
I am referring to these very forum. In the recent months it became flooded with pointless spam and one word replies. Things totally got outof hand in the past 4 weeks or so. All decent topics were flushed down the list and they were replaced by things like "Can you wait for MGS2?". Maybe some of you regard these forums as a place to chat liek you would chat with your mates in school. Some use text language, things like brb gr8 and wot? Why that laziness?
I have been especially concerned with the fact that people who spend long times writing their topics simply do not get the credit they deserve. This is due to the relative lack of feedback from many of you. Once a person sees a long post, they think to themselves-"Nah I cant be bothered to read all that" abd start spamming.
Some of us even think that every long post is a GAD attempt and therefore does not reflect on the writer's feelings and emotions.
As Pro Evo said in the Longest Thread, many of people who are writing long, worth-a-read topics cannot be credited for anything just because seconds after a post is written it is beaten by hordes of MGS2 and GTA3 posts.
I do not want to be a big-head but to be honest in the last few weeks this forum only had 3-4 people post good posts that were actually interesting to read-Pro Evo, SSX Pro, Wookiee Monster and me. Now I am not trying to say my or anyone elses posts are sheer class, but I dont think anyone can argue that there has been hardly no people who posted long thought-provoking posts.
So could we just stop this spam and try and get this forum back ot its feet. AFter all this is one of the most-visited places on SR...And what kind of example are we setting here???

Pro Evo, ok maybe I lost the thread a bit from the original post, glad to see someone's remembered what the whole issue was all about....thanks. Yes I agree (sorry, couldn't resist that ;D) with what your saying, people do need to change and hopefully as you said that's happening already......maybe we'll see this thread drop slowly and never reappear.....or maybe not!
I don't want to see people leaving as I think the more people who are on this site the better, new ideas, new chat about games etc etc and if people start leaving because they feel intimidated about putting certain post on here that would be a great loss.....I just think that maybe people should think more carefully about what they post and is it really necessary.

Maybe a topic like this needs to be kept at the top so people will read it when they first log on and then maybe they will think abit more about what they do post ??

Could we not have a similar forum as the Future of Gaming?, They have two forums one with just chat and one with main ideas and it seems to work?
That's it then - Bu99er all that can be done unless the exalted ones decide to do something.

Sorry, it's just the way I feel, Triple_H has probably had more responses from this topic than he has from the one he originally mentioned in the first post and a day later YH has suggested a complete overhaul of the SR forums.....
I've just re-read his post, actually he's talking about sorting out FOG Prime and Chat, Sony, Sega.....and took pb's idea for the Life and Sport forum.

Yep, another great idea that should really be taken up by everyone, trouble is the temptation is just too great. ie you just want to take the p***, you know you shouldn't but you just do (you isn't refering to you by the way!)
And yes, before Grapo2002 gets on here, I've done it as well, usually a line or two just to point out that there's no need for it but it usually falls on deaf ears.

Yeah, I knew this really wouldn't work out, but I can see where nh is coming from. All he's saying is he made a point of reading the rules and it helped him in the long run, maybe if all JATs did this then the forum would become a better and more harminous place to be.....Utopia anyone?
