Now I really didnt want to touch this subject again, but seriously this is becoming a joke.
I am referring to these very forum. In the recent months it became flooded with pointless spam and one word replies. Things totally got outof hand in the past 4 weeks or so. All decent topics were flushed down the list and they were replaced by things like "Can you wait for MGS2?". Maybe some of you regard these forums as a place to chat liek you would chat with your mates in school. Some use text language, things like brb gr8 and wot? Why that laziness?
I have been especially concerned with the fact that people who spend long times writing their topics simply do not get the credit they deserve. This is due to the relative lack of feedback from many of you. Once a person sees a long post, they think to themselves-"Nah I cant be bothered to read all that" abd start spamming.
Some of us even think that every long post is a GAD attempt and therefore does not reflect on the writer's feelings and emotions.
As Pro Evo said in the Longest Thread, many of people who are writing long, worth-a-read topics cannot be credited for anything just because seconds after a post is written it is beaten by hordes of MGS2 and GTA3 posts.
I do not want to be a big-head but to be honest in the last few weeks this forum only had 3-4 people post good posts that were actually interesting to read-Pro Evo, SSX Pro, Wookiee Monster and me. Now I am not trying to say my or anyone elses posts are sheer class, but I dont think anyone can argue that there has been hardly no people who posted long thought-provoking posts.
So could we just stop this spam and try and get this forum back ot its feet. AFter all this is one of the most-visited places on SR...And what kind of example are we setting here???

I agree, and before I hear cries of "its only a newbie" I had been on hear for over a year as "Stranger In Paradise" until 4 months ago, and I've just returned lately. There is definitely more spam and repetitive topics, and I can't be bothered to post anything really original because, as otehrs hav said, it'll disappear under numeorus GTA MGS2 topics, which are ok, but why not play the game more and find out for yourselves, or use the MGS2 thread, rahter than clogging the whole forum up !
Thats true spike. If we are bound to get replies its only from the people you know. When you see Pro Evo or Spike or SSX Pro (or any other good posters for that matter), yopu just know that they will always be able to provide good feedback and maybe create a decent argument.

Maybe its a lost cause.
There are loads of posters in here now and more than half seem to just come for the chat purposes, there are hardly any decent long topics that are interesting to read posted, and when they are you can hardly find them as they get pushed down to the bottom under all the crap thats posted.
No doubt someone will come and criticise this post telling people to get off there high horse ect. But it does seem annoying that when people, not just including me and others post a decent post and then get no replies. Some might say that they dont get replies because they have covered all the subjects, are they have the same opinion, but i reckon thats rubbish. There is always some difference in an opinion and then you could just comment on the post.
Still, when the Forum has hardly any decent posters left they might realise this, bit then, it would probably be too late.

Good point, i have only just recently decided to show my face around here lately, but you are right, if the spam gets any higher a lot of us will disappear again. i really do hope that it doesn't come to that and i'm sure the majroity of us won't let it come to that :)
I totally agree with you, people post some very good topics on here and no one can really ne bothered to read them.
I noticed this a lot recently, i myself i have done a few posts and i have only had replies from the people i know, and not many others, which made me think that sometimes we don't get replies is because we are not as popluar as others on these forums? i don't know but that could be a possibility.

Here, here. And this shouldn't just go for this forum, as well. When coming in here, you find it to be a different kind of place then the rest of the site as some people only come into this forum and as a result, you find people such as yourself highly respected in here.
A lot of posts are filled with SPAM and I've noticed it a lot since MGS2 was released. Because of my interest in this game, I decided to check out a lot of the threads on it and to my disappointment, found loads and loads of pointless threads.
No offense, but ain't that what FOG Chat is for? Even then, people will moan about it, but we're beginning to just accept it. Around October time, you'd have been lucky to get a reply in this place within 20 minutes of posting something and after midnight, the only person who'd post in here was Ortega.
Now look at it!! After the mass success of the PS2, due to the price going down, this place is filled with people and a lot of people will always mean a lot of spam.
