It's is 3rd place in terms of units sold.
Jack & Daxter, and now Rachet & Clank illustrates that Sony ps2 is just as good at cartoon platform exploration as the Ninty Cube. Infact I have seen a few reports that put the Sony offering ahead of Nintendo.
The lack of a DVD movie player is a mistake for Ninty. The cube might be a bit cheaper, but most people will pay that bit extra to get a console that also plays dvd's. Ahh, some you already have a standalone dvd player in the house. True, but many games consoles are not connected to the main tv - they are used in a bedroom or ther room. PS2 and XBox provides these people with a handy 2nd dvd player in a different location. Both XBox and PS2 also use DVD for games which means the games can be much bigger compared with games on the GC.
Price fixing. Even though this only remarks on the last gen consoles, fact is it made it into the main news. This is not good, and is worse for Ninty since they have always pushed the idea that they are more fair, and are not like Sony or anyone else.
Ninty got the price wrong at launch. Nintendo have made a mistake in introducing the Cube at such a low price. Now that there have been price cuts for PS2 and XBox, people are looking to Ninty for a similar cut. But it wont happen until next year. With it's low price, Ninty need to shift lots of Cubes - which it is failing to do.
Uncertain future. While details for PS3 and XBox2 are not firm - and will change again before launch, at least we know that there will be a PS3 and XBox2. Ninty are much more uncertain. One day they say that this GameCube will be the last Ninty console. The next day they claim to be working on GameCube2, but then say that will be the last one. The only thing we can say for certain is that, whatever the market format is at that time, Ninty won't use it.
First Officer Bill Franklyn: Admiral, we have a problem. Incoming losses due to the result of a competition at Nintendo prime.
Admiral Bill Gates: Arm Dollar Torpedoes, maximum spread, Fire!
First Officer Bill Franklyn: Sir, they had no effect whatsoever!
Admiral Bill Gates: Dagnabbit! Any suggestions staff?
Admiral Bill Gates: You've won this round Shigsy....

But price fixing on a scale so woefully large.
They used techniques to make sure they were the monopoly and that they could set the prices for the market. If another company was set up, they would have to lower their prices to be more competitve but by being a monopoly they could set their own prices!
It's basically price fixing!

I wont even dignify that with a response other than this

"It is illegal for any company to collaborate with one of it's competitors in an attempt to eliminate competition from the market, and thus create a monopoly. Microsoft has participated in such an act."
They broke monopoly rules...
WORSE than Nintendo did!

In Japan, the GameCube sells more than enough units to keep the company alive and kicking, and the Game Boy Advance sells more units per week than the Playstation 2 Japan, which is Sony's most popular market.

'Has' being the word. It wasn't Super Mario 64 that sold the Nintendo 64, it was Goldeneye. super Mario 64 was a hit for the N64, but if it wasn't for Goldeneye, the Nintendo 64 wouldn't have sold half as many units.

So? One in three is still a big amount considering there are six billion people in the world.

I've seen PS2 games with more than one disc involved.

That's BS! Sony reduced the price of the console to compete with Microsoft's prices. You really think a console over £200 is going to be able to compete as fiercely against two other consoles that are nearer the £150 mark?

If the software was overpriced, Nintendo would lose money as sales would be so poor. However, releasing games as low as possible to make a profit increases the number of sales, resulting in larger profits. Thus, Nintendo can afford to keep prices lower. That is why most GameCube games are released cheaper than most new X-box and Playstation 2 games.

Exactly!
I thought that was what happened but I wasn't too sure!
Buying out EVERY rival company is alot worse than fixing a few prices!

Slap on the wrist naughty Microsoft how dare you make money! Honestly are you some kind of communist? They can do it as long as they keep it legal and so far they have.
Anyway there is one point left to make NINTENDO ARE THE MOST EXPERIENCED IN MAKIND CONSOLES!
