It's is 3rd place in terms of units sold.
Jack & Daxter, and now Rachet & Clank illustrates that Sony ps2 is just as good at cartoon platform exploration as the Ninty Cube. Infact I have seen a few reports that put the Sony offering ahead of Nintendo.
The lack of a DVD movie player is a mistake for Ninty. The cube might be a bit cheaper, but most people will pay that bit extra to get a console that also plays dvd's. Ahh, some you already have a standalone dvd player in the house. True, but many games consoles are not connected to the main tv - they are used in a bedroom or ther room. PS2 and XBox provides these people with a handy 2nd dvd player in a different location. Both XBox and PS2 also use DVD for games which means the games can be much bigger compared with games on the GC.
Price fixing. Even though this only remarks on the last gen consoles, fact is it made it into the main news. This is not good, and is worse for Ninty since they have always pushed the idea that they are more fair, and are not like Sony or anyone else.
Ninty got the price wrong at launch. Nintendo have made a mistake in introducing the Cube at such a low price. Now that there have been price cuts for PS2 and XBox, people are looking to Ninty for a similar cut. But it wont happen until next year. With it's low price, Ninty need to shift lots of Cubes - which it is failing to do.
Uncertain future. While details for PS3 and XBox2 are not firm - and will change again before launch, at least we know that there will be a PS3 and XBox2. Ninty are much more uncertain. One day they say that this GameCube will be the last Ninty console. The next day they claim to be working on GameCube2, but then say that will be the last one. The only thing we can say for certain is that, whatever the market format is at that time, Ninty won't use it.

You're an idoit!
People don't buy them, MS have forced rights on people to make them use the OS and no other companies have had the chance to get a foothold in the market due to the monopoly!

Ok no offence Tom but the upcoming memory cards from Panasonic including the 8 MB and the 16 MB even the 500 MB (yes i know ridiculous) are all coming out shortly. The 16 one which is twice the size of the PS2's will cost £35! The 8 one costs a mere £18. I don't know much about the 251 whatever but I have 13 Gamecube games, saved them all with extras in some games like Doshin photos etc... and I have dont just about half the space.

LOL Tom did what most people do, I would have done the same probably. You know what they all said that last time about Nintendo going down and then there were no games coming out for months and the console price was so high no one bought it. Yet Nintendo managed alright, they survived and actually made a good profit, this time people are buying the Gamecube, the price is very low and loads of people are buying it.
And what I find funny is that you are so sure of yourself, ignoring the fact that Nintendo are making a profit on the Gamecube and a massive profit on the GBA. If they were making a loss i might just agree with you... and like Microsoft, Nintendo have millions to keep the ol' cube alive.

I said I'd leave, but then I saw this. Anyway, Memory card 251, right?

That one, right? Correct me if I'm wrong, but on the description it says '16MBit Flash Memory'. 16 megabits, eh?
So that's aprox. 2megabytes.

First things first thatwebsite looks like it was made in an hour due to its total lack of EVERYTHING! It is text and no more it could have been written by anyone at anytime the only remote tie to any other website worth a damn is the linux link at the bottom. Finaly even if they control 94.1% of operating systems today that means nothin that just means lots of people buy thier operating systems not that they own 94.1% of the market.

Tell that to everyone else who have used the same technique.
Now, excuse me while I leave this thread. It's way to boring.
LOOK!
"It controls the operating system of 94.1% of the personal computers sold on the market today"

You said it not me
Ofcourse, because you two say it is so, it must be the case.
The words you type detirmine Nintendo's future.

Loads have people have bought it.

Yep but that survived.

And your telling me there isn't on the Gamecube? You know nothing about the console only what your magazines and obsessed friends tell you. Nintendo have first rate FPS, Stratagy games, platformers, RPG's, racers, horror games literally everything.

BSB is owned by rupert murdoch you fool and the government is using it to go for the cheaper digital service. So few people have taken up Sky Digitial, the Governement wants analogue switch off by 2010 and BSkyB offering the cheaper digital service although not as many channels is set to help acchieve that target which will in the end sell more than Sky.
But it is besides the point the Nintendo Gamecube has sold loads... just because the PS2 has sold more doesn't mean the Gamecube hasn't made a large profit.
You are wrong Nintendo are becoming more profitable each year, they are making more money on the Gamecube than Microsoft is on the X-box for the simple reason that Microsoft are losing money left right and centre. Just Because there is a couple of hundred more microsoft consoles in European houses does not mean Nintendo are doomed, in Japan there are tens of thousands more Gamecube's in people's homes.
Get it right you idiot.
