We don't know, but the big cheese's in the gaming industry do and this includes Microsoft. Microsoft have been told by Rare or just have suspecions of Nintendo's marketing plans and Microsoft stated that they are very cunning and that they have something incredible up the sleeves.
Rumours surrounding online play through the newley announced GBA player add on to the Gamecube could well be it. Online GBA games? Addictive and fun games that require very little bandwidth etc... or nintendo maintance? It could be terrifyingly possible and may kill X-box off in Japan that hopes X-box Live could help increase dwindeling sales in the land of the rising sun.
Thought you aught to know.
Hmm, I think I could find free games that are very similar on the internet to play online.
The proper home console games (whether it be Xbox, GC or Xbox) have much better sound and graphics (gameplay is debatable). I can' see the point of playing GBA games through your GC over the internet when you could just log into something like Yahoo games for free.
But then, online gaming doesn't bother me.
> Oh, and £400.00 a year for online play?
What? Its £40, that get you 2 free online games, one years subscription to Xbox live and the headset.
Now, I feel PS2 and GC online basicly arn't worth bothering about if your serious about online gaming, as technically they the games are gonna suffer.
Wait, before you reply here an example. The other day my friend picked up Return to castle wolfenstine on PC for quite cheep. We tried it online, and is was great and rubbish at the smae time. The online game had missions, teams, everything, great teamplay aspect. But the connection with a 56k modem was so bo***cks. I killed one peoron after 20 minutes online, not becaue I was crap, but because the connection couldn't compete with broadband players. If PS2 and GC is going to have both, the 56k people may as well not bother, you will get your @ss kicked, its no fun, you may aswell not be playing. You can't compete fairly.
If you've got broadband, then you should go for Xbox online, as the service is light years ahread of the competion. Thats whats good about XboxLive. Everyone is on the same level, the games will be fair, you all have a fair chance.
Mixed 56k and Broadband players will work in theory, but Broadband entering every home in Briton is enevitable. If you were building an infrastructure to play online games for the next 20 years, why invest in slow dial up which is getting phased out?

Same here, it's like if you even dare to criticise Nintendo they, mostly, fall upon your post like a pack of Ninty wolves.
I suggested that Nintendo's european and online stratgies were somewhat lacking in one post I did - and I juts got, mainly, a load of replies saying howwrong I was. Apparently most people enjoy a massive long wait for a euro translation, and are happy with Nintendo's non existent online plans in europe...

:D.
I got 1 or 2 decent replies, but the rest just totally put me off bothering to try and discuss anything in there.

Sorry mate, but that's complete bollards. I don't know about you, but I don't want to turn these forums into some kind of communist system. If I want to come in here and post (and I'll have you know it's always rather sensible) then who's going to stop me? Whatever happened to freedom of speech? You should be pleased I'm comparing the two consoles. Hell, I may even get an X-Box in the future.
Some people in these forums have just got to remember what they are to most people - fun.
> Mav - how bout I do the same kind of post in the Ninty forum? I bet
> I'd get a really warm reception huh?
Not likely, questioning things is the most interesting part of these forums, as well as a good debate. Dringo was giving you some Microsoft related news, and er-no and WookieMonster didn't seem to have a problem with it.
> People in here have laughed off Dringo's post whereas if I were to do

Not really - I personally would welcome it.
> Why do you need to? PC gamers have been managing without it for

Because PC Gamers have been mesing around with keyboards. Squad based shooters are no good like that - too slow. Plus no PC system has ever been like Xbox live in terms of organisation, security, and structure. MS are encouraging the use of the voice headset as an integral part of the games, why type "loser" when you can say it in person ? :) And in squad games it's excellent - as numerous reports in Mavericks beloved EGM - yes we all know, metroid 9.8, ignoring the fact one of their reviewers gave Starfox 4.5 aren't we ? - confirm, and US PS2 broadband users say the same about SOCOM. Besides, PC gamers are a sad lot *read this last line with a sense of humour everyone yes ?*
