Or as it is otherwise known - The MLB Thread

So Yankees, as always busy around deadline day and were quite successful. Abreu and Lidle for a bunch of minor league prospects of which only Smith looks half decent. Don't know too much about Lidle to be honest but Abreu will give another strong bat and some experienced coverage for Sheffield while he's out injured (and more than likely replace him for next season) Also picked up Craig Wilson for Chacon to give us another strong bat. Had him in my MVP Baseball 2005 team as well actually. Might mean Andy Phillips doesn't get as much time as he should though which is a shame.

Red Sox and Jays did nothing and we kept hold of Cano, Melky and Phillips so a good trade deadline time all around for the Yanks

I was watching it on NASN. When they went 7-2 down, I switched it off. I guess I have egg on my face now. :)

What an awesome comeback last night, so much for the formidable Oki and Papi 1-2 punch, hopefully they can ride this momentum to win the next 2 games and bring it to within 2.5. Those 2 comebacks against the D-Rays could prove to be very valuable for the Scum

Great to hear you had a fun time, did you have good seats? Get anywhere near a foul ball?

That's an expensive taxi, were you on the outskirts of LA or something?
Also got myself a Dodgers jersey the other week so we can match :-D

How's LA been so far? Seen any good freaks yet

Well the visit to the Dodgers Stadium was an enjoyable experience and the Dodgers won 6 to 1 but I'll be beggered if I understood how that was the score.

Hotdog was nice, peanuts not so enjoyable, got to take beer to the baseline so that was me happy. Only down side was the cost of getting to and from the ground - $150.00.

Ooohhh, got the T-shirts as well. We just looked for anything in medium and it turns out my friend got the Catchers shirt (Martin) and mine was the Pitchers (Billingsley). Very touristy but fun :)

Moose with a decent outing for the first in forever, should give him back some confidence. Joba gives up his first run though it wasn't earned so he's still 0.00 :-)

Useless bloody Tampa though, they should have swept them, they can keep a 1-0 lead but not a 4 or 7 run lead? Muppets

Yeah, I was watching the Atlanta/Mets game, the Mets were losing so they started watching the scoreboard. Tampa were 9-2 up only for Boston to tie it up and eventually win.

The gap is 5 games. If the Yankees can take at least 2 of 3, they might have a shot. They could do with the sweep really though.

Damn that crappy Tampa bullpen, blowing that lead.

Ah well a good start from Hughes after a choppy start, good to see him settle down and get in his stride. Ramirez also looked good to, he's pulled a slider out of nowhere.

I don't recall ever emailing the show myself.

A-Rod homers in 5 straight games. Either the pitchers he is up again are pathetic or he is just on some amazing form.

gah don't know why i bother wasting my time e-mailing the show, they're far too busy talking about those real hard baseball issues such as giving "shout outs" *shudders* to people and talking about whatever crappy t-shirt Johnny is wearing. Think the same idiot who chooses what e-mails to read out has been taking tips for selections from whoever does the GAD's :-D

hehe yea, he might get past 61, especially if he's deciding to blast 2 a game.

Another fine pitching performance from Pettitte. Looks good that we have two pitchers we can count on in the playoffs with him and Wang
