So Yankees, as always busy around deadline day and were quite successful. Abreu and Lidle for a bunch of minor league prospects of which only Smith looks half decent. Don't know too much about Lidle to be honest but Abreu will give another strong bat and some experienced coverage for Sheffield while he's out injured (and more than likely replace him for next season) Also picked up Craig Wilson for Chacon to give us another strong bat. Had him in my MVP Baseball 2005 team as well actually. Might mean Andy Phillips doesn't get as much time as he should though which is a shame.

Red Sox and Jays did nothing and we kept hold of Cano, Melky and Phillips so a good trade deadline time all around for the Yanks

Pettitte back to the Yankees, oh yus!!

Maybe that'll convince Clemens to come back for just one more year and finish off with a WS ring in the pinstripes

Oh the Yankees could get him if they wanted but the market is insane this year and they'd be looking at paying something like 15-20 million a year for him. So i think as they're looking to trim payroll they'll look elsewhere, if they get Igawa and Pettitte then that'll be enough

I suppose the only big news to be decided at the moment is where will Zito go. Do you think the Yankees have a chance to get him? Most pundits seem to think he'll join the Mets.

I'd have guesstimated approx. the same time as GP so thanks for that Kawada. Bad news is the schedule the wrong way around. For the dates we are going they are away when we plan to be in LA and home when we plan to be in Vegas. Unless I can talk my mate into going a week later (very, very doubtful) we'll have to go to Vegas first.

If I was to take a guess, I'd say the schedule would probably come out around March during Spring training. I wouldn't know though.

We are trying to tie our holiday bookings together now and I can't finalise anything until I know when next September the Dodgers have their home games.
