So Yankees, as always busy around deadline day and were quite successful. Abreu and Lidle for a bunch of minor league prospects of which only Smith looks half decent. Don't know too much about Lidle to be honest but Abreu will give another strong bat and some experienced coverage for Sheffield while he's out injured (and more than likely replace him for next season) Also picked up Craig Wilson for Chacon to give us another strong bat. Had him in my MVP Baseball 2005 team as well actually. Might mean Andy Phillips doesn't get as much time as he should though which is a shame.
Red Sox and Jays did nothing and we kept hold of Cano, Melky and Phillips so a good trade deadline time all around for the Yanks

Right, snooker is finished so it's on to baseball. DeSalvo has a floaty looking fastball but the speed trap says 90mph+. I caught the commentators saying that he seems to have a good circle change.
Replacing Igawa who's been sent down to AAA. 5.86 ERA last year in AA is all i know about him

I think they can move Igawa into the bullpen, he'd do a good job there. Pavano's apparently out for the remainder of this season already as well so he's a non-factor anyway so it's out of either Rasner or Hughes, if it was up to me i'd pick Hughes, he's been our phenom prospect for years now and he's proved why already. Soon as he gets back he'll fit in very well.
If they all stay fit then that's the best pitching rotation i've seen in ages, when all 5 of your pitchers can get you 10 wins at least then that's pretty amazing

Yup 5 K's in 4 innings i think it was. Certainly got zip on that fastball at 97mph, i just think he was suffering from big league debut nerves and couldn't control his pitches well. He'll get better, certainly someone to look for in the future
