Or as it is otherwise known - The MLB Thread

So Yankees, as always busy around deadline day and were quite successful. Abreu and Lidle for a bunch of minor league prospects of which only Smith looks half decent. Don't know too much about Lidle to be honest but Abreu will give another strong bat and some experienced coverage for Sheffield while he's out injured (and more than likely replace him for next season) Also picked up Craig Wilson for Chacon to give us another strong bat. Had him in my MVP Baseball 2005 team as well actually. Might mean Andy Phillips doesn't get as much time as he should though which is a shame.

Red Sox and Jays did nothing and we kept hold of Cano, Melky and Phillips so a good trade deadline time all around for the Yanks

Joe Morgan was annoying the heck out of me last night

he keeps putting the ball up
he's got it up again
and again he pitches it up
see he needs to stop pitching the ball up

Stop saying up arghhhhhhhhh

Heh, there were loads of runs scored around the majors last night. The commentators were saying that the mound might have been a bit different because all the Detroit pitchers were keeping the ball up.

I'm amazed he is only 4-3 down at the moment. He could easily have given up loads more and taken out in the first.

Not exactly how you want your first inning of Major League Baseball to go, 30 odd pitches, 5 hits, a walk and 4 runs including a long bomb

Home plate ump is busy tonight already

Better second inning for Virgil though he doesn't need people blowing double plays. Make sure of the first one

I was watching the Mets play and a few players weren't using pink bats.

Nice home run from Ordonez.

Well the kid DeSalvo has another impressive outing against Seattle again, shame he can't pitch against them all the time. We've got a few very impressive rookies coming through now, looking good for the Yankees

Milwaukee may very well slow down but I can't see a team in the Central that could put a meaningful run together.

Milwaukee will slow down soon enough, the Nationals looked like they were going to do something at this stage of the season last time so the first month really means nothing unless you go about 0-20 :-D
