OK, it's past time there was a chance to win an extra gaming prize. We've had a discussion in the office and decided to run the following competition.

For no particular reason, I've never really had an avatar image for the forums. The competition, put simply is just to design me an avatar image.

The winner would be decided by staff here at Freeola based on comedy value, artistic quality and overall eccentricity.

The creator of the winning image will then win a GAD prize as normal, offering any game up to the value of £45 or a £30 Amazon voucher.

Rules are as follows:

1) Please keep if family friendly - no obscenities or vulgarism!

2) The image size should be 80px by 80px.

3) This competition will run until the closing date of the 19th September.

4) You can only win if you have a UK address on your profile (this is where the prize would be sent), however still feel free to enter for fun if you are based outside the UK.

If you email any entries to [email protected], we'll put them on the submissions page as soon as we can so your entry can be seen. Don't forget to include your forum name.

Why would Moto have anything to do with it? The address you send the mail to is just picked up by multiple staff members basically :D

Incidentally the avatars will be added to the site page (by myself no less) on Monday as soon as I can.

Just discovered that the entries come into an e-mail address that forwards to me, loving the entries so far.

@pb and sc .... maybe this is why? Still can't see any new ones?

Maybe motomod has the weekend off ;¬)

Great idea pete, try the beers and let's keep the 'avatars' rolling :¬)

Don't think too hard about the task...just take the basics and work with them. I keep seeing it from a different 'angle' (maybe the beers) and that then gives me another idea.

First beer fueled attempted was unsuccessful I'm afraid although I was watching a film called A Night In The Woods which I think actually sobered me up. It was like a British Blair Witch Project, it wasn't scary at all and didn't seem to make a whole lot of sense.

After thinking this morning reckon I should probably clarify where I was going with my second attempt. It was based on certain peoples misconceptions of what some may call 'extreme sport'. I asked a friend of mine yesterday if he ever fancied giving rock climbing a go (loads of facilities around North Wales, there's actually a training centre built inside a disused church about 5 miles away from us), he replied:

''Screw that, remember the start of Cliffhanger!''

In my mind that comment was as ridiculous as when asking someone if they are going to the office Christmas party they reply:

''Screw that, I've seen Die Hard!''

He then pointed out that I was into ''crazy stuff''. By that he meant mountain biking (which I have had minor injury from doing in the past). Mountain biking is a great sport and I can confirm that when done correctly is most definitely not ''crazy''. I also have a road cycle, it is a custom built model made using an Italian Bianchi frame. I chose this frame because it was bright 'in yer face' turquoise, my mates call it a ''hairdressers bike!''. I thought that Mr. Magoo would have had a job not to spot me on this but this has proven not to be the case, I have almost been taken out quite a few times by careless motorists when riding it. I would say road cycling is a far more dangerous pastime than mountain biking and probably rock climbing as well. Yet when I made this point and the fact that I was not ''crazy'' for doing the sport my friend still seemed unconvinced. I wasn't insinuating that Dean drops people off the side of mountains!

The very fact that I felt I had to explain this would suggest that I've totally failed to capture this in 80 x 80 pixels. Hopefully Dean will think that all the entries are rubbish and declare the winner to the person who has waffled most on this thread!

Probably should have just done something mental like a demonically possessed potato or something...

I've gone for a different approach and I think it works. Wish I had more time, but I'll try for at least one more.

Cheers DL :)

Just sent another one in which is a bit less pants than my first effort. I've actually found this quite difficult, not that easy to think of something original. Will have a think over the next few days, I usually come up with my best ideas after a few beers, haven't tried that yet.

All you needed to know was initially given by Dean himself :¬)
