Quite frankly I cant see PS2 gaining a lead throughout 2002.
Nor can I see the XBOX swelling to the front.
Nintendo will naturally bounce back with a vengence.

Sadly for Sony this is Nintendo's year and years there after.
Roll on Spring, I can't wait.

We've had this out a thousand times before. We're talking about consoles at the moment, and the GBA doesn't count. A lot of people see handhelds seperate from consoles, and whereas they usually wouldn't dream of having two consoles, owning a console and a handheld is perfectly acceptable. The handheld market is totally seperate and is a market in which Nintendo dominate through monopoly.

yes but when you think about it the ps2 and x-box are just multi-media set-top boxes for the casual gamer and are not really in direct competition with Nintendo as the Gamecube is purely a games console for the hardcore gamer, anyway the gamecube will allways outsell any other consoles that a thought of as rivals anyway plus nintendo allways make the best games so i don't think nintendo have anything to worry about in terms of competition.

If the GC is not released any time near the release of the XBox then they are going to miss out as people will buy, in my opinion the better console the Xbox. People awaiting the GC have already been waiting too long...

God, who cares? Will both sides lynch we when I say I'm getting both? The PS2 rules, no doubt about it. It has a DVD Player, which is why I got it. The Gamecube is undeniably more powerful, and has hype of the biggest kind surrounding it. Both will be good. So stop arguing!

On second thoughts, don't. It's entertaining.

"Liked Mario Kart on the Gameboy? Then you'll love it on the Gamecube!" sort of thing.

Nintendo may have 2 more consoles to their name, but only because they've been around longer. However, their reputation against Sony has actually been quite poor. As far as the public is concerned, Sony make the best consoles around. The PlayStation and PlayStation 2 have fended off the two previous greats, Nintendo and Sega, very well. So much so in fact that Sega have given up against them. What's more, as far as the public is concerned, Nintendo doesn't really exist at the moment. They have no hardware around, in the UK at least, and in all other countries the PS2 has a much greater install base.

2 Christmas lead hmmm? If your talking about Gamecube it'll be 2 christmas indeed for PS2 but only slightly over one year.

Gaming HARDWARE??? Geez, baseless if you call just TWO Consoles to their name that was any success. Remember Nintendo Beats Sony hands down in that front with FOUR successful consoles. Nintendo therefore have a better reputation havent they?
Plus did the Mammoth lead '2 Years' by the Mega Drive have any effect for the Super Nes??? Just because the Gamecube was and will be late on arrival, dont count it out! In fact Just watch!
Remember the Super Nintendo was in a healthy position much like the PS2 then the PS came along.

All in all, I think Nintendo's in

They will be in a better position than what they have been in before, with that and their '32 In-house and second party titles for the year'(www.planetgamecube.com)
again i'll say no more. Its the best position they've ever been in. Better than what Sony can manage on their own.

This GC is SCHEDULED for April/May, but we know what Nintendo are like with "keeping" their deadlines. If it misses the May target it would almost certainly be put back to December.
