So my point is, I love the PSX and hopefully the PS2, and I prefer the games coming out on PS2 than on DC like Babylonian, but I don't see much point in arguing over and over again using the same points over and over again. No offence. Babylonain, what do you think of MGS2?? I CAN'T WAIT!!!! I would also like to know what you think of other games coming out on PS2.
Thanks for reading, Ant.
>Just accept that the PS2 will take quite a while to get a software library as long as the DC.
As DC had a year's head start, that's stating the obvious. Looking at it that way, I can claim that it'll take another 4 years for DC to have a comparable catlogue to PS1.>
A COMPLETELY different story.
Because the PS was easy to develope for, it had lots of bad games from unknown companies, Sega on the other hand have a library of about 150 GOOD games, the PS1 had about 200, I said had cus they arent worth playing now.
>And please remember the DC is now 2 years old and people are comparing a new system with it. It just shows how far ahead Sega were or just how far behind Sony are with there hardware development
Sorry? DC is mostly a compilation of technology that more or less already existed - WinCE, PowerVR
PS2 specs were announced in March 1999, and include numerous custom, new-technology chips, designed specially for the PS2 by Sony and Toshiba. Considering the amount of time taken to design, devlop and build not just one, but several new chips, who would you say was behind?>
So that matters??? WinCE is just for conversions, so that PC games are easier in the process and it is PowerVR 2 which rivals anything Sony came up with, afterall, videologic make these cards for a living... I would still say Sony are behind cus the chips came out worse and the DC IS new hardware...
Capcom have confirmed that it would take longer to convert the game than make a new one so....
But then they said that is even doubtful as the XBox is signed by them and the Gamecube is getting Resident Evil 0.
And if you ever do play Code:Veronica in a years time - remember that im playing it now and it is better than all the speculation, Im not sure I want MGS2 anymore actually, this is the best action I have seen EVER (just my opinion) Especially the John Woo type cut scenes with Matrix special effects. Honestly Babylonian, if you werent stubborn, I could guarantee hapiness at Christmas but is it happn? No, cus You wont admit that u want a DC..
This is the one game that I would like to play. But remember where the excellent Resident Evil series started out: PlayStation.
Can you really see the series not 'coming home'? I expect to see a PS2 version of RE:CV on PS2 within a year.
All RE fans sing together now...
"Evil's coming home,
It's coming home,
It's coming home,
It's cooooming..."
I'll say it again - it's personal choice. Each console will have its share of users, because of the games they like playing.

The PS2 I am not attracted to because it doesn't have many decent games.

No, the UK/US/Euro PS2 DVD IS HARDWARE BASED.
>Dead or Alive 2 (yes the PS2 version IS a disgrace and should NEVER have been done)
Obviously having a Jap PS2, you have a Jap version of the game. For the Euro/US market, DOA2 is being re-written, improved, and released as DOA2: Hardcore.
>Unreal Tournament at 40fps (at the minute they have the PS2 version at 15-25 fps
There's an amazing thing called optimisation, which tends to happen last in the chain of coding events. What's been talked about in the mags is an unfinished version. So look here at the PS2 graphics: http://www.dailyradar.co.uk/published/news/game_news_854.html
...and then compare the two versions when you have a *finished* PS2 game to look at. I doubt the DC version looked this good while it was still in development.
You can find any of the above info in any games mag, or on the net.

> So, multiplayer is irrelevant but you brag about being able to play with 8 people??? HA!
No, I don't brag at all. More than 2 players is irrelevant to *me* - but even PS1 can have up to 8 players for games, *IF* required.
> Uhhhh, no they cant
Uhhhh, yes, they can.
>Trust me, the analog buttons are not an improvement cus u have to press them so fecking hard it hurts
Well you must be some kind of wimp then, cos you're the only person I've heard complaining about them.
But then, that does seem to be what you do best. So much so that you don't check your facts and prefer to make wild, unfounded claims.
Just to clear things up, like!
