I'm thinking of picking up a GC as soon as tomorrow.
A couple that haven't stopped breathing might now be thinking "why the change of heart ?"
The most obvious reason is that I have flu right now so chances are its the words of a sick bloke ranting.
The other is that I've been laying in bed thinking back to games I played such as Metroid and Zelda and how there are times I'd like to play them again (but of course in they're new forms). Afterall, at the end of the day I am a gamer, not a fanboy and I've grown up with Nintendo games.
I might also look into a Gameboy Advance SP towards the end of the month with some of the classic Snes games that are out or coming out.
If I get a GC, this is what I'm thinking of grabbing...
Black GC
Extra controller (black of course)
Resident Evil
Resident Evil Zero
Mario Sunshine
Advanced scart lead (for best pic and sound quality)
Then of course I'll pick up Metroid Prime and Zelda as they come out. Don't need a memory card as I have the one from when I had the GC before. Anyway, thats the current thing going through my head.
Blame my credit card taunting me while I'm ill for this happening.
Right, well I'm off to ponder more on this and decide on how I'm going to pay for it all if I decide to go shopping tomorrow.

Got a spare few hours tommorow morning before uni so I will try and play Resi 0 and get further.
But it's something Nintendo wouldn't do unless they could get it practically perfect, and I've got to admit I agree with them.
Hackers could absolutely destroy a Pokemon MMORPG, which would make it no fun at all.
Of course you still want it to be a strong 1 player game. But it would be great to have access to a large online world too, where you can travel around with your Pokemon and interact with other players. You could chat, make friends, battle basically anywhere, trade items and Pokemon and you could even have tournament events going on in certain locations so you can win little trophies and stuff.
For me, that would be Pokemon at its strongest. The same excellent 1 player game combined with a huge online world to enjoy. That is a game that would be worth paying a subscription fee for.
Plus with the GC not having access to a head set to talk into, its a game that could use a keyboard to communicate effectively as theres no pressure to have to hurry messages out - thanks to any battles being turn based.

Heh, me too.
I wonder if they'll make online matches for the GC Pokemon game...
It wouldn't really take that much, the battles could be just the same as Pokemon Stadium from before, and trading would be easy to do as well. It would be a real shame if Nintendo didn't take this opportunity, because it really is a very simple operation.
They've already done trading over mobile phones, so hopefully...
The X-Box forum has been pretty quiet over the past couple of days, I guess a few of the guys are busy playing they're games. ;-)
Going back to Pokemon, I had to GB colours, just so I could trade with myself on the game - felt so sad ! ;-))
I still traded with myself on Silver and Gold, but I tended to use my mate Mike's GBA linked with mine to do the trades. He bought silver, then eventually gold. He got into it so much that he also bought the other colours from earlier too. ;-))
We traded a couple of times, but because we played the game so regularly on our own over the different colours, we ended up trading over our own cartridges.
Funny enough, we never actually battled eachother - we did love comparing our trophy collections on the Stadium games though. ;-)
Thats where the rivalry between us was and it was fun. We were always working to get our favourites levelled up to leave the other awe struck. ;-))
I grabbed Celebi when he was available for download in London. Me and Mike both got on the train early and travelled all the way up there. I got to take on some punk kids and beat them senseless. I was unashamedly proud of myself. ;-))
Overall though I thought Celebi was pretty crap - not as good as Mew.
In a way I'm happy that the new GBA games don't allow trading with the old colours. It'll be fun to start again from scratch with everyone being in the same boat as it were. :-)
My mate Kate got into the game later on when I bought her the silver game. Its the first game shes sat down and completed - she was well happy. ;-))
So I think she'll pick up one of the games. ;-) Hopefully this time we might all end up battling and using the next Stadium game as yet another Trophy boast competition. ;-))
But this time I have a friend who will get Sapphire :D
Two of my friends - Mike and Kate might get it though so there might be some hope for trades. ;-)
