Well one way might be to say something that I'm about to say...

I'm thinking of picking up a GC as soon as tomorrow.
A couple that haven't stopped breathing might now be thinking "why the change of heart ?"

The most obvious reason is that I have flu right now so chances are its the words of a sick bloke ranting.

The other is that I've been laying in bed thinking back to games I played such as Metroid and Zelda and how there are times I'd like to play them again (but of course in they're new forms). Afterall, at the end of the day I am a gamer, not a fanboy and I've grown up with Nintendo games.

I might also look into a Gameboy Advance SP towards the end of the month with some of the classic Snes games that are out or coming out.

If I get a GC, this is what I'm thinking of grabbing...
Black GC
Extra controller (black of course)
Resident Evil
Resident Evil Zero
Mario Sunshine
Advanced scart lead (for best pic and sound quality)

Then of course I'll pick up Metroid Prime and Zelda as they come out. Don't need a memory card as I have the one from when I had the GC before. Anyway, thats the current thing going through my head.
Blame my credit card taunting me while I'm ill for this happening.
Right, well I'm off to ponder more on this and decide on how I'm going to pay for it all if I decide to go shopping tomorrow.

The only 3rd party thing i've bought was a PSone memory card, which i bought during the time of PS2 Gamecube etc. so it didn't really matter. I've seen them to be unreliable, and have suspicious turbo buttons, that go crazy.

I never buy 3rd party stuff if I can help it. The only unoffical things that I own are my Action Replay V2 and my Blaze Scart cable both of which are for my PS2. I think spending the extra bit of money on a official controller or memory card is worth it in the end.

I don't buy third party memory cards - I don't trust them as far as I can spit. Bought one when I had a PS1 and ended up regretting it when I lost a load of game saves - some took days of time to get the progress I had. I remember I had a Soul Blade game save with some excellent time attack results on and stuff. Was gutted when I lost all that. From then on I will never buy a third party memory card again.

The main reasons why I'm after an official one is becuase Zelda WW seems to not like the 3rd party mem cards, so it usually wouldn't matter to me since I have a joytech mem card and it's only half full with only 11 game saves on it, still got about 50 blocks left.
But if I get a new official one I might copy all the saved data onto this one instead just to be careful.

Yeah I'll be going to SR on Friday to pick up a couple of official memory cards with the reddies I have. :-)

I made sure that my GC - GBA lead was an official one (twas the only type available in my poxy small town). Now i'm on the search for a cheap official mem card that's less than £10 from Game stores around my area (which is Oxford, but I saw one in Southampton today but was only £10 as usual).

Would be nice if there were a connection lead thing I can get so I could use that controller on my X-Box for Capcom vs SNK 2. I wanted the X-Box version because of the option to go online with it.

Yep, those SNES like controllers were specially made for use wth the GBA player. You can use it for any game of course, as long as it doesn't require analogue sticks.

I want to get an official one - the only ones I saw were third party and I tend to stay well away from that.

Saying that though, I was reading through Cube and they showed a controller thats coming out (Hori or something). Basically its a GC version of a Snes controller so its D-pad looks great and its ideal for beat em ups. Has no analogues though so beat em ups are about all you'd be using it for. Still, I want 1 or 2 of them though. :-)
Plus they'll probably be good for when that add on comes out for playing GBA games on the GC.

I already thankfully bought a Gc GBA link ages ago before they seemed to disappear from my area of shops.
