Someone tell me this isn't so, I need a control system I can use or I'll never play it.
I think the thing is that I like a huge involving story in a game and this didn't really have much of a story. It's still great though, just not my bag.
That boss that began with "F" the one where you shoot those things so the light doesn't reflect on it. (Great description huh) was a right git, it took me ages, I didn't die or anything it just took me ages to finally beat him, he kept hitting the mirror things back down. When I killed him I almost broke my pay for throwing it in the air while cheering.
He's still a git though.

I dont miss normal strafing at all. At first I kept trying to strafe with the C-Stick but now I can easily strafe using L. But most of the time you only need strafing when tackling enemies, but instead you get to hold L and encircle them.
Metroid Prime is amazing and one of the best games for the GC if not all 3 consoles. You can't compare Halo with MP as they are completely different and are both excellent examples of how great games should be.
I remember.
Just looked at the Fusion suit in Prime too, very sleek!
Me: "I don't like the Metroid controls"
WS: "Then you are an idiot, they are fine"
Me: "But I don't like them"
WS: "Go back to playing your PS2 games"
Me: "Actually I own all 3 consoles and have a balanced opinion on many shooters, and find the Metroid controls to be poor"
WS: "You are stupid because you don't like them"
Me: "You are correct, I shall change my opinion accordingly"
No wonder no newbies stick around when you get jumped so easily, especially in here. Posting in here is like that bit on Die Hard 3 when McClane walks through Harlem with that sandwich board on, you're just asking for it.
My final word: I don't like the Metroid controls because they don't feel natural, and I prefer games like Halo and TimeSplitters. I didn't come in to slate the game at all.
Thanks
But then I got to Phendrana Drifts (THE best snow level in any game, EVER) and I got hooked, the game starts out a bit dull, but believe me from Phendrana onwards it's simply amazing.
One of my my favourite, maybe even my favourite game ever.
*goes off to play metroid prime for the 1000 time*
I thought the scannning thing was quite cool too, there's just a lot of it no?
I'm also glad I rented it because as nice a game I think it is, I'm glad I know not to buy it, there's nothing really wrong with it and it's better than most games I've played but to me it just wasn't that good.
