Okay, I just got Metroid Prime today, and I've only been playing it about 2 minutes and I'm worried already. Do you really have to push down the L button to strafe? That's crap! So you can't turn and strafe at the same time? Rubbish! I can't see anywhere in the options to change the controls. You can't even use the camera stick to move your view around, can you?

Someone tell me this isn't so, I need a control system I can use or I'll never play it.

Oh please, like strafing an enemy and circle strafing are hard skills to posses.

Only the most retarded little morons couldn't hold one stick forwards, one stick slightly to the right/left and press the fire button.

Metroid isn't about combat, which is why it isn't a FPS. It's more of an adventure game, just because you look through their eyes and there are guns it doesn't mean it's a FPS.

If you stopped bickering and just got on playing it you'd realise it for yourself.

This is part of the problem. I don't consider holding down the target button then constantly hitting fire very skilful, in fact, I consider it insulting. Strafing, turning and firing at the same time is an acquired skill that only myself and a few other people possess. If it's not going to be difficult, what's the point?

Still, I'll keep at it and see if it gets any more bearable. Super Mario Sunshine, now there's a game...

Yeah, and have you ever noticed how apart from graphics and weapons, they're all pretty much identical?

The controls for Metroid are far from shoddy, and if you think they are you either are stupid, incompetent or you havne't played it enough.

Watch me play Metroid for 10 minutes and I'll show you moves and agility you can only dream of in Halo.

I thought that at first, but, when I was trapped in a room, filled with Space Pirates, and taking them out with ease, I realised that if they had ben like, say TImesplitters, it'd be almost impossible to win the game...

I don't actually care if you give a damn or not, I wasn't trying to start a fanboy argument about which console is better, I was having a rant at the shoddy control system. You were the one starting with the insults.

I have all three consoles, with first-person shooters on each, and I find Metroid to have useless controls compared to TimeSplitters, Halo, Jedi Knight II, Quake, Unreal Tournament, Medal Of Honor and pretty much every FPS I've ever played.

That's not to say I don't like other bits of it. The pretty graphics make me do a sex wee.

To strafe you hold L and move left or right.... if you are locked onto an enemy at the time, you will encircle them...
