I am interested in the above subject

and am wondering how you would go about starting out in this field. I am just completing a degree in computers, so have a very good background in the whole subject, just sod all experience in journalism.

perhaps applying to review on websites or something would be best?

I only ask, as apart from the multimedia side of computers (websites - sound processing - video editing), there aren't many other jobs in computing I can see myself doing for any length of time (programming, network administration etc). Computer games have always been a passion.

Any input would be sweet.

I think it's a great idea to ask people who only do reviews for a few websites how to become a games reviewer for a living, don't get me wrong...

Does it matter? We are talking about the future of computer games journalism. It's not as if we are comparing shoe sizes or something equally strange.

Well, we all are, in a way, with our brilliant, magazine-esque reviews.

Sorry, but why the hell are you posting this here? How many people on this board are computer games journalists?

I want to write like Carrie writes in Sex And The City. Honestly how good would that be! You just write about life experiences being witty and you get paid. It'd be so good...I'd have to think up a witty to the point topic though hmmmm.

Surprisingly, this is my goal also.

Well, journalism - not computer games journalism as such, but journalism of some kind.

'twould be good.

Yeah but there wouldn't be such a huge market for computer games magazines such as Nintendo Official Magazine, Playstation Official etc etc The best part of the job is you get to goto E3 or whatever it is called in America if you have an industry job. There are lots of people that make quite a good living from computer games journalism and lots more.
