Morrowind is a fantastic RPG if you have the time for it.

So, I decided after looking at this thread, it needed editing.

Morrowind discussion, discuss about Morrowind.

Pretty straight forward really.

Tell us your Morrowind storys, cool stuff you've done ect.

I'm an imperial guy, I bought the axe as I had no luck with the dagger. I am more skilled with the dagger though.

I slash at the rat none-stop, while walking back to avoid its bites, but the thing won't die.

At first it's difficult to hit anything. Also if your Fatigue is low this hinders your strike rate.

Is the "Axe skill" one of your "major skills"?

If not, you'd better chose a weapon which is one of your major skills.

If so, you can improve it in two ways:

1. By clicking on "training" when you talk to someone [where available], or
2. By practising on small wild beasts - the "mud crabs" are the easiest to kill.

What character type are you?

why can't i kill these rats?

I'm in balmora doing my first job for the fighters guild.

i purchased a large axe from the armourer and went to the house, but when I swing the axe at the rats, nothing happens. they just bite me til i die.

do you have to kneel down or something? I tried pressing the left stick in to crouch, but that didn't work. why can't I hit them?

I tried to like it, I really did. But everytime I tried, I got bored and decided that scraping my finger nails down a mile long blackboard would probably be more fun.

You have a choice. Follow the story or side-quests, or go off and be a freelancer. At the beginning, I suggest to do the first option - and that's how it becomes excellent fun.

If you enjoy talking to people to have them real of a load of crap about ork and elves and beardy beard man's golden sword from cracnar mountains. It wouldn't be so bad if they didn't all speak like that...but they do and it's boring.

Then you've got the fact that your character starts off having trouble killing rats and fish...great fun. Oh and the NPC's are some of the dullest characters i've ever come across in any game, none of them have real personality about them, they all say the same things, it's just dull.

Dull dull dull dull.

I've only played for about 30 hours and I think it's excellent.

Don't forget to "save often" - Morrowind is a dangerous place.
